I attended WGHS from 1982-1985. I recently went to the 90th Anniversary of the school and was very impressed.

I have a daughter here, and I am appalled to find out they have STOPPED! keeping feminine hygiene products in the bathrooms and instead, they are kept in the LIBRARY! and you have to ask permission to use them!!!! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!

My Daughter started here this year. I had a choice between private and public. I was a little worried at first sending her to a public school (yes went to a public school in the area as well) but hey with 3 kids and over 100k after tax we may as well go first class overseas every year. This school is amazing. The care, the love the concern is just top shelf. So My Daughter just did a band trip to Brisbane. Their flight was cancelled at 11pm at night. She is 12 and I was worried as they needed to sleep at the airport. Not only did the @ClemBurgman and his team or volunteer teachers make this a night to remember with the girls getting pizza and a solo Cello concert but the Principal, @AdrienneScalese made her way down (from Gosford) , ON A WEEKEND, to welcome the girls home!! What a leadership team, What a school. Thank you. All of you went above and beyond. Very Grateful!! The Hallmark of a great organisation is its leadership. @AdrienneScalese has been running this place for the last 3 years and her enthusiasm and professionalism can be seen throughout. Great School, Great Teachers, Quality Education.

Rather than offering me adequate support through years 9-10 when COVID was at its’ peak, they suggested I drop out and find education through TAFE. There’s no care when it comes to the well-being of a student. I understand needing students to show a consistency of at least average grades, but, refusing to help a student asking for assistance then claiming you did everything you could is shameful. I openly spoke out about my struggles yet they were too worried about my absences and lack of assignments instead of my mental health. Some of their teachers were absolutely fantastic, there were a few that couldn’t comprehend the idea of being kind but the deputy and principal however were some of the least empathetic people I have met to this day. Teenagers are bound to experience whirlwinds of emotion they struggle to understand, this school has shown time and time again that they do not have the resources to take this on. Giving me a break card then sending me to a counsellor once and leaving her to deal with me isn’t an ideal form of support, when your grades drop, they’ll drop you.

I have been going and still attending this school for three years now. This is not a great school!! Teachers barely care and the school focuses on the wrong things even though their memo is all about wellbeing. They teach us useless topics and barely go into actual important things we need to know (except math and kinda science) and most teachers are barely doing a good job. 80% of them do the bare minimum, are rude or don’t even know anything about what they’re teaching about. I had a tech teacher who barely taught us anything and whenever we asked for help, she said she didn’t know or to look it up. Also had a math teacher who gave his class links to math videos and then do exercises, he didnt even teach us anything. Also the feedback they give is so vague and bad, I have barely been able to actually improve or expand on my education at all. Some assessments are just pointless and the timing for due dates are actually idiotic and horrendous. We’ve had multiple exams and assignments due in the same week and they barely give us any time to work. As well as they gives us 3 assessments the first 1-2 weeks of coming back from holidays so every holiday I need to study the entire two weeks for math and my other subjects!! I know this school presents itself as one of the best, but there are a lot of negatives. I will say the community is mostly tame (I havent seen much or experienced much bullying or harassment, but thats my experience) and I have had fun times with good teachers and friends. But seriously this school NEEDS to do better, the students are begging for it.

This school's reviews seem worse than my school and there are a lot of petty people there lol. This school teaches a lot of stuff in year 3 and a lot of students with decent primary schools can easily exceed other students. Some students don't even understand why x = 2 in 7 × x = 17
