This is an essential visit for local residents and all those who are interested in Australian history. Lovingly restored by it's current owners, this tremendously important piece of 1820/30's Australian colonial history deserves attention, and that's what it's owners have focused upon in maintaining and restoring this historic treasure.

On the site is also the 'Garrison', a purpose-built structure that houses an impressive array of historical memorabilia, chronicling the owner's extensive military service and family history in the Navy, Army (Special Forces) and Air Force. Werrington House most importantly perhaps, rightly belongs to the tapestry of the local character and it's residents and it's owners have graciously ensured it is accessible to the public via an annual open day which can't be missed.

Peter and Jennine, accomplished yet grounded owners of Werrington House, have perhaps shown the greatest respect to the people of the outer western suburbs by preserving and presenting a significant part of the local identity and worth, and a visit to Werrington House will leave you, as it did me, astonished with such a significant cultural and historic asset, and greatly warmed by the hearts of it's gracious owners and custodians.
