This school has been an amazing help and support to my son and my whole family, they have been caring and my son loves going to school, he has enjoyed his time in early years and is definitely ready to move up to the next level into middle years, I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a loving kind environment for there special child, the school bus is a great service too. I wouldn't trade this school ever.

My eldest son has attended Waratah Special Development since 2009 and will be graduating at the end of this year. The words that describe just how wonderful, supportive, professional and welcoming are nowhere near enough to adequately express just how committed the whole staff and school community truly are.
Being a special development school, the students there have many needs, and for some very complicated needs and Waratah steps up to support students, families and each other to overcome all those challenges. The staff are on call and no crisis is put in the too hard basket. The relief to find a place where your child and their ever changing needs or the families needs are never judged is beyond words.
The facilities are second to none, and the expert staff are nothing short of angels. All are driven to work in this unique area of education and our lives have been blessed by having them involved in our son's formal education years. They support you all and on the really challenging days help you see a bright light to work for and reach that, at times elusive place of positivity. It is with much sadness we say goodbye, but it is time to move on to new challenges, which the school has worked hard to do and support us all to make that great leap, as we move on, a new student and family will benefit from this fantastic school.
Our family is forever indebted and grateful for our time there, and we wish all the school community the most amazing future.
To new families joining this amazing community, it is an unsettling time, but your child is in the most amazing hands with the most gifted and amazing angels who you will grow to love working with. You have made the right choice for your child and your family.

My daughter is a student. Great environment/atmosphere. More funding and more TA's would give them 5 stars. Don't let the standards slide on something that is working, state government.
