amazing library, but staff and security were so rude, power hungry and nasty. they yelled at me for 10 minutes in the silent area and during my online class because my friend and i weren’t aware of the silent room rules until we arrived - being 1 person per room. since it was too late to book another room and we weren’t going to be disruptive at all as we were both joining an online class, we assumed they would understand. instead i felt so humiliated, they definitely could’ve approached the situation better considering they weren’t met with attitude from us. definitely will avoid the silent spaces from now on.

A very quiet library atmosphere that's very spacious. There is a range of seating heights and styles, hence accommodating for all study styles. I went at 10.30am on the weekend and there was no one around! Some places kind of dirty but definitely a good place to go.

One of the well stocked libraries in Australia. The ambiance is amazing and you really feel like studying. Highly recommend using MQU library for academic purposes.

Some of the seating is weird and during end of session gets rather crowded. Either you are stuck sitting in a low seat with an even lower table or you get stuck on a glorified bar stool when it becomes busy. The best tables and chairs are located in the bookable pods, but there are a few scattered about on the ground and top floor.

Other than seating, staff have always been friendly when I have had questions, the cafe is great and the bamboo garden is rather nice to look at. My only other complaint would be that the bathrooms are constantly dirty.

Power hungry staff and security. Was escorted out of the building with multiple people from my school whom weren’t even sitting on the same level as me for actually nothing. When questioned what I did wrong. I was told “everything you’ve done had been caught on CCTV don’t do it again” with no further explanation other than the movement of chairs. I didn’t even do anything? I would like to complain about this because this is a public library in which I have been issued only 1 warning on a different day to the day in which I was escorted out for moving a chair. What is the problem with you guys and chairs? You have massive circular desks and only have 4 chairs allowed? Not to mention the rules aren’t written down anywhere. How was I supposed to know not to move chairs before a rude security guard came up to me and gave me a stink eye whilst forcing me to move with no consideration. I feel discriminated against because I was escorted with a bunch of people whom were all just uniformed highschool students mainly from my school? I would be understanding if it was a packed library but literally it was basically empty at the time of forced leave and if the security guards didn’t give so much unnecessary attitude especially without any explanation. Also you guys have like cell blockers or something because personal data is not available.

In my opinion, by far the best public university library you'll find in Sydney for anyone to study in. Accessible, always plenty of space, quiet and relatively clean.
