As a Chinese person, this was truly the worst food I’ve ever had! Those self-service dishes seemed like they were made days ago, the rice was hard, and the noodles were dark! It was probably due to being reheated multiple times. I wonder if this meets food safety and hygiene standards. The most absurd part was that they charged an extra dollar for dishwashing, even though I was dining in the restaurant. Such a strange practice! And the portions were so tiny. What a greedy and unscrupulous business.

My go to for Chinese food in Upper North shore for the last 12 years. The place is basic but they cook authentic Chinese. They are so good, I keep coming back. Peter and his team are friendly and nothing is too hard for them! I go for salt and pepper tofu and squid, and prawn omelette. You will see regulars coming again and again so you know you won’t be disappointed.

This is by far the worst Chinese food in the area. I ordered crispy fried chicken and salt and pepper chicken wings for takeaway, and it was a huge disappointment. After waiting for 35 minutes, I received cold food that tasted incredibly bland and tasteless. It was clear that the food had been cooked quite a while ago and just packed in takeaway containers. For fried dishes, I expected the food to be cooked fresh, but that was definitely not the case. Would not recommend this place at all.

The food is amazing. I wish I had discovered it sooner. The restaurant is basic so it mostly does take away but it’s clean and aromatic. The chefs are authentic and amazing. You won’t be disappointed!

Wow…just…wow. I tried this place for the first time tonight and ordered the Satay Beef. It was absolutely spectacular. The satay was so absolutely flavourful and the beef was melt in your mouth tender, juicy and so tasty. I highly recommend the satay beef from Waitara Kitchen. And I can’t wait to order it again next time!

Went there tonight 10 of us. What more could I say!! Service was amazing, fresh and quick. Very busy place for takeaways, portion wise, very good quantity, and quality is awesome. Would recommend anyone there. Great affordable meal in Waitara and Hornsby area.

Left my review from 3 years ago as addendum below. Interim, had food from this place one other time and it wasn't terrible, so decided to give it another try.
What a horrendous mistake. Horrible food. Got the lemon chicken again, and salt and pepper calamari. The lemon chicken is so obviously re-fried in old oil: The batter is a deep brown with a slight bitter old-oil taste. The chicken inside is hard, dry and rubbery. The salt and pepper calamari is freshly fried, with a more golden batter, but the calamari inside is so old that you can see wrinkled and dried freezer burns on the edges. For $17 per dish, it is absolutely horrible.

Terrible and expensive for what it is. Bought lemon chicken today for $15, and they served old fried chicken that was, so obviously, refried. The laksa was watered down and bland, like they didn't know how much water to add to the laksa paste out of a can. Yuck.

This is our local takeaway. You can eat in but that is just not what it’s there for.
The chefs there cook in front of you. It’s like a floor show watching them.
Always busy but when we place a phone order we need to get in the car straight away, and we’re only 10 minutes away.
Most dishes are pretty good. Prawn toast excellent and satay chicken great. Vegetarian fried rice outstanding. For some reason lemon chicken not the best.
We recommend it.
