Loved the room, clean and in period to the old building. Working balcony off the room provided views of the town and afar.
Shared bathrooms kept the stay in period of the day the building would have flourished.
Within walking distance to everything

in Gulgong for the swap meet. was advised to go to the Prince for a meal.I had the snitzel with creamy garlic prawns, wife had the brisket burger. these meals were top class .
Staff were friendly . would recommend to all travelling through.
Do you guys have happy hours at any time during the week ?

What a fabulous surprise to walk into a country pub only to have the most friendliest welcome from the young fella Kobi, escorting me to my table, service and hospitality like this is rare to come by these days! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, good atmosphere, sensational carpet and an all round tip top country pub 10/10

Local resident here and it is really sad to see that you have changed the place so much . No personal service just QR CODE ordering system AND asking for a Tip BEFORE the meal is pretty arrogant .
Taking what was a $10 lunch special and charging $20 is a bit rude .Seems to be more aimed at taking the money of Tourists .
Beer bottles as Salt and Pepper shakers was cute when it was more of a Pub atmosphere but now charging the prices you do ,you could make it a bit more classy .
$20 for a Chicken burger ,$1 extra for Turkish Bread , that could fit in my wife's palm is not great either .
It used to be a great place but not anymore .
It's the last time I and my wife dine there .
Such a shame .

Been Staying At the Prince of Wales for 5 years now through work & it’s always been my first choice no questions asked. So, it’d be insincere to do an honest review.
The rooms you simply cannot fault at all, it has everything you need and stands out unequivocally from other Regional Pub Accomodation.
As per the Food, got the 500gRump Steak - cooked rare. It was the best pub steak meal i’ve had all year (always hesitant ordering steak at pubs lol) this was certainly the best steak i’ve had from a pub in a long time, cooked perfectly and was ACTUALLY a 500g looking steak on your plate.

Riley, Gabby, Steve, Piddles and Coby are always more than welcoming and hospitable, they absolutely do make the Pub a well oiled machine.

Stayed for one night and was very impressed with service and accommodation. We took the opportunity to have dinner at the pub and we were over whelmed with how fresh and tasty our meals were. Hubby had supreme pizza and I had the chicken breast with vegetables.
Will be returning soon 🙂

I am planning another visit for work purposes to the region and in the past have enjoyed a brilliant experience at the Prince of Wales in Gulgong.
However, there was an issue last visit with the restaurant service with the manager not being prepared to deliver all courses in order, but all together. I was told by her it was the new dining experience. I would call it a dining nightmare. $40 steak getting cold whilst eating the entree. Not good!!!
I am keen to again stay at the Prince of Wales but would need to ensure that the meals service has now reverted to the traditional - courses being delivered in order with an appropriate time gap between each course.
Can you please confirm this is now the case? If so, it would be my pleasure to book accommodation at POW again.

My husband and myself have been regular visitors for the tasty meals. Went there about three weeks ago, the menu had changed…not for the better….most of the salad meals were gone…the reason we visited there, and also all the lunch time specials were off the menu as well. Not rushing to go back there any time soon?

PS. we are fairly new to this region and this was our favourite and most visited venue.
