When I started this certificate course, I had absolutely no idea about photography other than taking photos with my phone.

The first module felt like I was reading something in a foreign language, I won’t lie. I struggled at first, and I had to YouTube some things that were outlined in the first few modules to have it explained in ‘beginner baby mode’.

After the 3rd module, I felt like I was really getting the hang of things and already knew what some of the technical terms meant they were referring to. Around module 8, I started to offer my photography services for a small fee, which I gained more interest than expected!

I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for this course! It has been great in getting me out of my comfort zone, enabling me to know the basics and kickstarting my career.

The Photography Institute certificate course has greatly assisted in improving my knowledge of photography and my skills as a photographer. I found the online content easy to access and follow. My tutor provided great advice and assistance throughout the course. The self-paced nature of the course was very helpful as I was working full-time through most of the program.

Each module was well set out and easy to read and follow. The assignments, while challenging at times, provided great feedback. The certificate course has enabled me to think about the shot before taking it, focus on composition and get exposure right. Put simply, I take better photographs for having completed the course.

The transformation I underwent – from a novice unsure of settings to a photographer who can thoughtfully compose a scene – is astounding.

Probably one of the best if not the best photography schools. The courses will bring your skills up to date with all trends and industry standards and you will learn heaps of new things and tricks to elevate you and your photos from average to professional . It is a flexible and self-paced online learning experience that is built on 12 well written and structured modules that provide an in-depth introduction into all aspects of Photography and the Photographic industry. I enjoy photography and started to invest in good camera equipment and also research a number of photography books and journals. Despite these endeavours, there were still elements of disappointment in not achieving the standards I envisaged as the intended outcome. I chose to address this issue by enrolling in the Certificate Course offered by the Photography Institute.

The Course content opened my mind to essential information and skills that were inspiring.
