Mathilde is a fun and engaging teacher who has made learning French so enjoyable for our daughter. She looks forward to going to the French Spot every week, learning with Mathilde and interacting with all the other teachers. In her journey to learning French, Mathilde prepared our daughter to go to primary school in France for 6 months (both parents are non-French speaking) where she had a blast!

I looked for a French school for online lessons for months before deciding on The French Spot. It offered the most flexible and easy-to-access lessons for a busy professional. The responsiveness from the school and the quality of the teachers is excellent. My French has improved immensely under Nina's tuition and I highly recommend The French Spot.

I have been taking French classes (started at level 1) the past 3 yearsweeks with Nathalie. I’m enjoying it and will continue.

Currently the classes are 1h p w virtually with 6 people. It’s conversational.

Pre COVID,

The classes are 90min and small (max 6 people) which helped me feel comfortable to speak up and build a relationship with my fellow students. We share our experiences and tips.

The pace works for me as I don’t have much to practice, and I’m not disciplined enough to do an E-course!

The classes focus on the French language and also on the French culture.

Natalie -the teacher- has been very patience and helpful.
Twice I couldn’t make class and she gave me (and others who missed class) to make up for the missed class;
and when I asked for vocabulary list to practice more words, she looked it up and shared with me.

Definitely give this place a try if you want to learn French.

Two years later from when I first posted the above comments , and I can honestly say the experience just keeps getting better! I absolutely love my classes with Mathilde. She has an amazing way of engaging with the group, making every class enjoyable and interactive. The whole vibe of the class is fantastic, and it’s been such a great opportunity to not only improve my French but also deepen my understanding of all things French! Highly recommend to anyone looking to learn or brush up on their French – you won’t regret it!"

I completed nearly 2 and half years at The French Spot and whilst I enjoyed my time their after going to another school I can see now my Matilde was at times rude, unprofessional and abrupt (think - picking class favourites, talking in English most of the time, taking smoke breaks during class). I think I paid around 5k in my time there and learnt a lot but customer service isn't great.

After years of not practicing my French, I really enjoyed getting back into the swing of it in my Wednesday evening classes run by Marie. There was a great atmosphere in the class, and we had plenty of fun discussions every week. Marie is an excellent teacher - she strikes the right balance between allowing us as students to speak freely and then correcting us when we make mistakes. That is actually a very difficult skill for language teachers but I feel she handles it perfectly. Would recommend!

Learning French at The French Spot is joyful, effective and rewarding. Nathalie is a great teacher. I learn French because I love the language and French culture. The French Spot delivers on these in spades. The classes are like learning French by stealth: before you know it, you’ve advanced well and it’s been enjoyable and amusing. What a great way to learn! It takes clever, well prepared teachers to achieve this apparently so effortlessly. Very highly recommended.
