I like the fact that if you have any questions about Duval county public schools you can actually go somewhere and get some answers or directions to get your answers. I did manage to find most of my questions or had them answered here. What I didn't enjoy is that charter schools isn't part of this. So if you were to put your kids in the magnet program, and we're thinking of a charter school, well this wouldnt be it. Shouldn't this office be a one stop for all public schools in the Duval area? And then they tell me that each charter school has a different lottery than the school system. So this place isn't by any means a one stop shop. Then they are not clear to the direction that your child will take, which makes sense, but some help to the parents like giving options to what to choose. I have a 5 and 3 yr old and I'm just starting my journey, this was a good first stop. Please ready up on the magnet programs as each school offers different things. Some have STEM, some are more artsy stuff, and others are geared toward engineering or science. I still don't understand why all thes schools just can't have most of it anyways. And the fact that magnet system is lottery based is crazy to me. Again, I'm just starting out so I hope it all works out. Picture is something they had behind their desks that I never found on any webpage. It's of my area and the schools offered for elementary. Bold are schools that have transportation. They have a lot back there that I didn't see anywhere on the internet. I twss very nice to see computers at the lines so you can do what they say while they say it. That was veaut. So remember your username and password for the DCPS accts. I hope this helps someone out there. It is a confusing time for any parents to pick schools and programs.

I went to the school choice office to have my daughter transferred from one school to another I must say the staff was very polite, patient, and very understanding they help me with my situation to the best of their ability and when I left I was completely satisfied and my daughter was able to start school. Thank you again ladies for all your hard work
