Tamworth has one of the better libraries I have been to although, even though I have been a member for years, I am only able to borrow 2 items because I don't live in the area. It has a great range of books, items and DVDs. There are lots of nooks to sit and read or work. It has wheelchair access and toilets upstairs. It is large enough for kids to be up one end so if they get noisy it doesn't disturb you too much. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Nice library, found some nice books. However staff are extremely loud. I was there for over an hour and there was not a moment of quiet from staff. Could not focus on my studies at all.

It was lovely, quiet and air conditioned. Very lovely man greeted us happily at the front doors and offered his assistance. My boyfriend and I sat on a couch near the children’s area quietly, and was asked to move shortly after by a very passive aggressive older woman. I wonder if it would be worth putting signage up regarding the seating policy of the areas, for the public to see. 🙂

We took our girls to enjoy story time at the library on Thursday and a lovely friendly lady (Kel) was facilitating the group. She has such a friendly, welcoming nature and was beautiful with my girls. Thank you Kel, you are perfect in this role and made our morning so enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The city library has support efforts combined with TFSS. They are there on Tuesdays to help community with information and support. I went to the opening and it looks a great community project. Contact the library for more information.

The library also does audio books through your library membership.
