This place has so much potential, unfortunately the management is absolutely useless. Our daughter has experienced trauma after one of the educators had left her alone in the classroom and shut the door. 3 years old body language is very obvious if you are trying to figure out where the truth is. The educator did not care to fix the situation, rather avoided any eye contact. I've raised this to the management and requested a meeting with the educator few months ago. Assured that this matter is taken seriously I haven't received any response to this date. Sends the message loud and clear not to mention the manager has met me on several occasions and pretended there is nothing hanging in the air. There are few educators who truly love their job and I am very grateful for those as thanks to them our little one learned to trust teachers again.

We have 2 children in Sydney Montessori School, Stage 1 and the Tara 18 month - 3 year class. We have been in the school community for 3.5 years and have been so happy. The teachers are wonderful, caring and loving role models who are very passionate about what they do. They offer us parents so much support and really know each of children individually, understanding them and what they need in their environment to develop.

The classrooms are each beautiful environments that offer our children the freedom to be independent and wonderful materials for their learning and development.

Our kids LOVE the playground, a beautiful natural environment with plants they care for and water, dirt they can play in and be kids in, a slide, climbing equipment and a large sandpit.
There's no fake grass here.

We highly recommend Sydney Montessori School for both long daycare and Primary school education. 5 STARS - Our kids are thriving here!

We joined the school in the first steps program when our babies were a few months old and fell in love with the school, philosophy and the community. I’m so glad we did because we’ve gone on to send our daughters to the day care, then into stage one and now in primary. The teachers are so committed and passionate, as is the Principal.
It’s a hidden gem in the Sutherland Shire, our children are thriving and happy to go to school every day.

I started my son in the 0-3 years program at a friends recommendation in 2017 and fell in love with the montessori philosophy. My son began long day care a year later and has now been in Stage 1 for 18 months. He is absolutely thriving and loves going to school. The teachers are nurturing and encouraging, and the school community kind and supportive. I could not have hoped for a better school to send my son to. I’m excited to continue to watch my son grow and thrive at this beautiful school for many years to come.

Our son has attended long day care for almost 3 years and has now transitioned to Stage 1. We evaluated alternative schooling options and decided that Montessori is the right place for our son. The Montessori principles, teaching methods and innate respect and trust in our children, their abilities and their choices is amazing (to me at least) and is the environment I want my child developing in. The 5 pillars of the curriculum provide a well rounded whole-of-practical life initiation into human beingness.
The care the teachers and staff have extended to the children in their care is outstanding and there is a strong bond of mutual respect and trust that develops. One of my favourite Montessori sayings is: "everything you do for me, you take away from me". It is so easy in a modern world to "do it all" for our kids because we are pressed for time but that does not help them and you get the most out of this schooling if your support the principles as much as possible at home.
I was fascinated to read about an "excursion" a former principal had attended. It was called a Going Out. Children aged around 12 organise a trip to a destination of their choice and are entirely responsible for planning the trip and getting to the destination by themselves. Adults accompany them to ensure safety but are not permitted to engage with the children as they are required to problem solve for themselves.
What a better way to teach planning, organisation, problem solving skills and to have the group completely engaged in the process?
There are so many other things I love about Montessori not to mention a deep appreciation for the natural world and the curriculum offering a connection to it for our children right within their class rooms which have inviting and beautiful outdoor areas.
This is a school that will support children to find their joy, their groove and what works for them while shepherding them towards achieving scholastic milestones with love and great care.
Go to an open day, ask to participate in an observation... totally the best.

So our daughter Judea’s first day at this daycare 19/03/18 will also be her last!! I cannot believe the condition and state my daughter was in when I picked my child up at 3pm. These people are absolutely filthy and disgusting with no regard for my daughters hygiene. I arrived one hour early to pick up my lil girl only to find my daughter sitting at a table with so much dried up mucus and snot caked up on her face chin and mouth (obvious from crying for us when we left her, throughout different times of the day.) they clearly never even cleaned her up once! She also she had dirt all around her mouth and on her chin as well from “playing outside in the sandbox” and then on top of that, she was sitting down eating a snack!! ? The first words out of my mouth were “what is my daughter doing in this condition!” Immediately they were apologetic.. saying they were “going to clean her up AFTER she finished eating” well first of all she shouldn’t have been eating filthy like that in the first place. I don’t know how I did not lose my temper in that moment... The only thing on my mind was, let me get my child and get out of here... Insat down on the floor immediately and began to clean her face and nose. (Had to use 2 wet tissues and a dry paper towel to clean her properly) I haven’t ever in my life, ever seen my child in such a filthy condition... I went straight to the principals office to make a complaint and advised him we will be pulling our daughter out of this school.. it is absolutely unacceptable, the condition she was left in today in your care. If they can’t get something so simple such as basic hygiene right for an infant toddler, (mind you she’s only 22 months old) then they’re not even going to get a second chance... this school doesn’t deserve to have Montessori in their title... after hours of research, asking questions, visiting the site etc etc we had such high expectations of this place only for them to be completely shattered by what I could only deem as what I refer to as simple laziness which can be called neglect. Our daughter has never been sick in her whole life other than 1 very mild cold once. If we were to leave her in an environment where she’s kept in a filthy condition then we are only asking for her to get some type of an illness. This may be Montessori Gymea’s standard. But it’s not ours, we take pride in our home, family, health, hygiene as well as our appearance. Very disappointing Montessori Gymea. Shame on you.
