I don’t know how anyone even enrolls in this place. For weeks I’ve been calling multiple times a day and there’s no answer, they don’t return voicemails. My son’s father contacted them on Facebook to organise a trial lesson and they messaged once and then never again, never confirmed the lesson or anything. Ignored his message for over a week. I don’t know what’s wrong with this business but they sure don’t care about their potential customers.

They don't annouce that a lesson is about to begin, so if your new, make sure you know exactly what side of the pool you need to be on. Instructor told us that learning to swim shouldn't be fun or a game. I know my son needs to learn but it needs to be somewhat enjoyable for him, not traumatising. We paid for 5 lessons and only did 3. In that time, he had 3 instructors within that time.
The whole experience just seemed rushed and they don't really mentor newcomers. According to them, you should know what to do.
One worker also made fun of a child with a mullet which could be heard by many. Pretty sure it was the owner too. It also seems dirty in there. My son was sick 2 out of the 3 times he went.
Definitely won't be going back.

Spent about 20 classes there and at the beginning quite nice. One of the instructor very patience with children and instructive. Ever since that instructor left and replaced by the other instructor.
My kid scared to go to the class every week because the instructor yelling and heavy handed while handling children.
Place a bit rundown need to be renovated to attract more ppl

Do not waste your time coming here. The whole place is run down and absolutely terrible. The centre needs a lot of work. My children came for 5 lessons and ended up more scared to do the lessons then they learnt. The teachers were mean and rude, it’s like the teachers don’t want to be there. We have found a new place since and my children are excelling and moving forward with their swimming classes. I would think twice before coming here 👎🏻 If I could I would have given zero stars.

I enrolled my 14 months baby for swimming classes and what a shock it has been taking him there. No positive reinforcement for child when he actually does well, no interactions with the child whatsoever. The way this lady interacts with me and my son is awful. She takes one child in the pool who can do better than new comers (of course he has been taking classes prior to those babies) and she will only interact with them. Her approach is ‘one size fits all’. What a pathetic approach to follow. They wanted my son to go have his head under water in 2nd session, when he will cry, the looks I get, wow! I would never recommend this place for babies to learn swimming, this lady educator tends to traumatise kids ( at least my one does get traumatised when he goes there). Not taking him there anymore. I would suggest, if you cannot work we with kids, that job is not for you. Find some other roles to do, there are plenty.

We have been part of the Starfish family for 5.5 years. This week fittingly they have offered to win 5 weeks free for this review and it won't be any use today is our last session 😭. We came from another local pool that had constant changes with teachers ,wonderful state of the art facility, cute songs for splashing but lacked consistency , structure ,routine and overall did not teach swimming.
At Starfish we have had the same coaches as we progressed through the levels. As a toddler it was Tracey and Nikki who taught him how to develop his confidence alone in the water; to use the board to paddle and kick, to blow bubbles as he moved and use his rainbow arms. He learnt that swimming is not a play session its a life saving skill.
Once he began school Hani taugh the art of technique for freestyle, back stroke, breaststroke, gliding and diving aswell as life saving techniques and mixed with rewards of fun (strategically placed learning and refinement). We are forever grateful for the skills that he has learnt. It could save his or someone else's life.
Raylene and Kate in the office are always welcoming, happy and cheerful. The children (and families) we swam with have become life friends, they have swum together since they were 2 often swapping and changing groups but coming together as they progressed and parent life changed. We will greatly miss our weekly session in and out of the water. Thankyou for all that you have done to make him a confident amd competent swimmer. Xxxx

My kid spent 20 sessions here and still not able to perform basic swim moves. I don't think the lessons are constructive and effective. Instructor looked at the clock every couple of minutes. Equipment and facility are quite poor and running down. There are better centres around.

My daughter has been doing swimming lessons here for quite some time, as a beginner.She originally had Nicky as her teacher who l liked alot as there was a no mucking around approach. An assessment was done (and is done each term) which shows the area in which she needed improvement. The lessons did seem to drag on in terms on repetition, yet the staff aren't there to just give each kid the green light and send them on their way.They actually take the time to reflect on how your child is performing. I would encourage parents to be actively involved as l see alot of parents just sitting there and not asking any questions.

Parking is available outside the centre and there are toilets and hot showers available

The lady at the reception is lovely and l appreciate the professionalism both herself and the staff uphold to the center.
