Please be wary of this organisation. We hosted a student from Italy who was not suitable for an exchange program. We had very little support from Southern Cross and it was incredibly stressful. I believe they exploit the goodwill of Australians who take on students at no cost whilst ( at the time) some woman in Mt Eliza was benefiting from a very lucrative business model. If you want to give hosting a try, i would advise Rotary as it is more reputable and truly magnanimous. Please avoid this organisation as they do not have the student’s best interests at heart.

We have been hosting since 2014 and have found the experience to be happy and rewarding. Jenny Hanson has been a wonderful source of information if we had any queries and has organised many activities for host families and students to be involved in. We have continued to maintain contact with most of our students and their families. In 2019 we stayed in the homes of five former students while we were holidaying in Europe and three former students have made a return visit.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a French student through SCCE and it was such an amazing experience!! At first I was worried that 5 months was too long but it turns out it wasn't long enough!! It's been a great experience for my girls not only learning about another culture but also realising their own is pretty good too. We had a lot of support from SCCE and our regional coordinator who was very helpful ? The most difficult part was saying goodbye at the end ? hopefully it's just "see you soon".

We have hosted Fifteen students altogether, Both Male and females, from France, Germany, Spain, Luxenburg and Italy and it given us a great incite of students and their Family. Many Thanks to Jenny Hanson for all her help and support though out this adventure. If it wasn't for her, we probaly would not have done so many.

I am a host parent and Local Co-ordinator. As a host parent SCCE have been very supportive and had open communication lines. I have hosted 5 boys (since 2018) and I now have "family" all through Europe. I learnt so much more about the world and cultures, and opening my home to these students ranks very highly in my life. SCCE's support, calmness and communication at the start of the 2020 pandemic was professional (all while they were dealing the overseas affiliates and a crazy flight schedule.) As a Local Co-ordinator I love meeting all the overseas students and supporting the student and families on an amazing shared experience. I've met many wonderful international students (and networked with amazing Aussie families).

I have hosted 3 students from France with SCCE. I have found Jenny Hansen and Sam Andrews to be very upfront and honest as to what to expect when my student arrived. We have had one particular French Student fit so well into our home that she has been back twice on holidays and stays with us for the entire 6-8 week holiday. Both other students blended straight into the family as though they had been part of our family for their entire life. I thoroughly recommend hosting an exchange student through SCCE.

Hi there, we recently hosted a girl exchange student from France for 10 months, which was a life changing experience for all & we are looking forward to hosting our next girl exchange student from Sweden for another 5 month adventure. Its a very exciting & rewarding time for both families involved, the friendships & connections you make last a lifetime & it feels like you gain a new family member every time you host. Cheryl, Monique & Sandra have been so amazingly supportive & helpful through out all of our exchanges. We have been hosting exchange students for over ten years & we can highly recommend it.

I’ve hosted many students spanning a couple of decades. We always felt well supported, were kept informed, and the students had planned activities with the program and also with us. Each one became a family member and we have friendships that still endure all these years later with the families of our students.
When there were any questions or concerns, they were dealt with quickly, professionally and resolution reached. I love my kids (and adult kids) all over the world ?
