Julia and the team provide excellent resources and do a fantastic job teaching the content, allowing you to go at your own pace and seek assistance if needed. At first being from Australia I was hesitant whether the content or construction methods would be difficult to understand, but the way in which the content was explained and made relevant to all parts of the world made it easy and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed completing the Certified Passive House Designer course and would definitely recommend Smart Plus Academy to any builders or designers in Australia or other countries interested in achieving high performing and passive projects.

I highly recommend SPA if you’re looking to learn about passive house principles. The course I took was prerecorded, which was perfect for my busy schedule. On top of that, our teacher Julia was amazing during the weekly Q&A sessions! I purchased the course for myself and one of my employees, and we both passed on the first attempt! I had no doubt we would, as the course is well-structured and made me feel thoroughly prepared. It is one of those courses that opens your mind and at the end you feel like there is a lot more that you want to know especially on retrofit! But don’t take my word for it, there is a course preview on their website which is free and you can try before you buy! Thank you Julia! I’m going to miss your lessons!

I am thrilled to have passed my Passivhaus exam "with confidence"! I owe a huge thank you to Julia, Daniel, Nalla, and the team at Smart Plus Academy for their teaching skills and support. Their passion and belief in the subject truly shine through in every tutorial, and it's incredibly inspiring. The more I learn about the Passivhaus principle, the more excited I get about working in this growing industry and building better.

The material and criteria on the course can be challenging at times, especially if you're not particularly fond of mathematical formulas, but the short video tutorials are clear, concise, and digestible; and the team are ready to help you with any questions. As a busy single mother, the flexibility to learn at my own pace has been a lifesaver. Over the past 10 months, I was able to fit in bite-sized lessons whenever I could. Julia’s face has become such a familiar sight on my screen…I think I’m going to miss her!

The combination of videos, live Zoom sessions, homework exercises, and the handy 'Formulary' reference booklet (which became my bible as I prepared for the exam) truly set me up for success. I wholeheartedly recommend the Certified Passivhaus Designer Course.

I had a great learning experience with the team at Smart Plus Academy. The Passive House Tradespersons course is extremely comprehensive and they are there to support you every step of the way. Having the video tutorials makes the experience a lot more interactive, and you can learn at your own pace.
As an up-skill or introduction to Passive House, this course is a good stepping stone. It takes a comprehensive look at the methodology and mathematics of the building concept.

I have done a few certifications and courses in my life, some of them in a class and some online. I even became a Cert IV Trainer & Assessor at some point and, thanks to that, I can say that I really like the way this course has been organised and provide to the students. From the online platform to the level of support, design of the content, community engagement, review workshops, supporting materials... everything. I am truly struggling for a minute to find any 'room for improvement' comments. If anything, I would have personally loved to have been sent a PDF with the mock up exams solved in the same extent as in the videos. But the truth is that it is not necessary as all is super well explained.
What a pleasurable trip, thanks a lot Julia and team!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Passive House Designers Course from SPA Academy, their customer service was second to none and very responsive. Julia delivers the content is a very concise and is very knowledgeable. The delivery of the course is very well structured with recaps and guided homework sessions after each module and their dedicated exam prep mini-course is spot on. Couldn’t recommend them enough
