Started at Silky Shapes doing the 3 week wheel throwing course. Absolutely recommend 10/10. Yegana is an excellent teacher. Very patient and kind. I now come back each weekend to throw, trim and glaze. I love coming here to be creative and develop my skills each week. Will definitely be booking in the next course soon. 🩵

The experience was so much fun! My partner and I were not dressed for the occasion at all and came into this completely clueless, but it was such a good learning experience. The instructor was very helpful and guiding throughout the process.

When we had to reorganise the day to pick up our glazed pottery, she was super open to it, and gave us both a free cup to apologise for being late even though we only waited a little bit. Super lovely of her!

Incredible experience and wonderful service 🙂

Tonight I attended a pottery workshop at this studio with my friends, and it was an amazing experience!

The instructor, Yegana, is a very talented ceramicist and the best teacher I’ve ever had. She explains everything so clearly that even complete beginners can easily understand.

We all managed to make three beautiful pieces each, and I liked mine so much that I decided to keep all of them for firing and painting! They turned out so beautifully!

Everyone who was new to pottery created lovely items on their first try, and those who had done pottery before said that Yegana’s explanations were the clearest they’ve ever heard. Thank you so much, Yegana, for your support during the workshop and for explaining everything so well. It’s such a pleasure to learn with you!

From now on, I will only come here to make pottery.

Have you been searching for the *perfect* place to try pottery for the first time? Somewhere relaxed, casual, calm, and friendly? LOOK NO FURTHER!
Let's pretend that I'm one of your closest friends and you know I have great judgement:

This studio is owned and managed by a gentle, articulate, kind, woman who is incredibly passionate about ceramics. She answers questions with civility so you never feel like a dodo. If you're willing to listen and be patient, you'll get a LOT out of coming to a class (or six) here.

Remember to spin fast, and use water. ☺️

We had an incredible afternoon at Silky Shapes Studio! ✨ We were guided through each step thoroughly and given all the help we needed for each piece. You were able to purchase your extra designs if you wished and it was amazing to walk away with something that looked amazing and I could use at home. Absolutely loved it and worth every dollar. I will be back! 👏 ✨
