SMG came to the school to deliver (I assume I was given zero details) Life Matters Training and I'm not sure what you taught, strangely enough, neither did my son or his friends. He walked away confused, as if was being blamed for being a man. I would love to say otherwise but I have no information about what was taught and after reaching out & having been offered no meaningful information about the session, I still have no idea. I was fobbed off to contact the school, but they apparently have nothing they can share.

It sounds like brainwashing young boys into feminist ideological claptrap to me, as well as accusing boys and men of stereotypes and caricatures of masculinity. On their page they have an overview of training offered, and while the girls program is to encourage girls to "use their spark to make an impact", the boys program is to encourage boys to "understand emotions and have freedom to express their feelings". Instead of providing encouraging messages to either sex that has the capability to "lead" or "spark change" this training seems bias towards an agenda that provides no real-world value.

It then gets worse as girls are encouraged to be people "who aren’t afraid to fail" and "lead and serve with passion and creativity." I have no dramas for this to be a message for anyone, however the boys training is to create "men who are captured by the responsibility to help and serve others." That's an interesting choice of words, girls have training that encourages them to "lead" and "make an impact" while boys training is to "be emotional" and "help".

The training seems to focus heavily on "the man box", a wonderful bit of feminist propaganda in Australia where the research states "whatever vision we have for men and boys should do and be, first, it must be feminist". While the training uses all the "toxic" elements of masculinity, the study in reality finds no evidence that the majority of men, or any men, are actually in the man box. But that doesn't stop this training relying heavily on a study where the lead is a self-declared feminist with all his work being developed to drive a feminist narrative.

I will not allow my son to attend any more of, whatever you did. The joke is that this was supposed to be "wellbeing" training and I haven't seen him come home that low from anything before. After talking to other parents, they had similar feelings of the day and won't send their kids again either. I would give it a 0 out of 5 stars, but I am forced to select at least 1!
