We arrived in the afternoon for a checkup, and it took an unacceptable 5 hours to finally see a doctor for less than a minute. After that, we had to wait an additional 5 hours for a CT scan report. No bedding available though they provided a blanket after we requested. When we inquired about the report, a nurse suggested we either go to another hospital or return home, which is not an appropriate response for an emergency situation.

This place feels like you're in a horror movie, not a hospital.

Due to the overwhelming pressure our health care system and all our nurses and doctors are under, I'm not one to criticise hospitals (especially not the workers), but this place really needs to be shut down.

The list of reasons why is extensive, but I will keep it short:
-The door where the toilet resides did not shut, so you have to leave it 2/3rds open if you want to use it.
-The nurses seemed to forget their training and that they were nurses who have a duty of care. The nurse assigned to me took my bloods and proceeded to drop it in the bin that was beside the trolley accidentally, so he had to take them again.
-Without confirming any test results from my bloods to figure out what was even wrong with me, I was prescribed antibiotics because they assumed I had a UTI (spoiler: it wasn't a uti).
-I wish I was joking, but the pod I was placed in, had blood stains splattered across the wall, that the bed that I was in, was against. I have pictures to prove this. I even asked the nurse if it was blood, and he replied nonchalantly, "Probably not", and didn't even check to see if it was. He just left it there, which is a huge biohazard.

This place made me wish that I just suffered at home instead. Do not go here.

Wednesday evening withdrew blood for a check, I complained cannot straighten my arm and the soreness and was told the retention needle is only plastic, I also advised the second blood drew to change an arm as it is not comfortable and felt weird and finger numbness, told it’s ok. I left with arm pain till today and the bruise and pain only get worse(Sunday) πŸ™

I don’t understand how you could just embarrass someone with language the moment you talk to the triage. Frankly the triage nurse was also the same background as my wife was. Been there 4 times, disappointed 4 times. Not even surprised anymore. 27/9/24 0900 hrs triage nurse. You better think about your occupation again really.

Waited from 9:30pm to 4am just for a 5 minute consultation with a young dr while there wasn't crowded that much. The staff wasn't even trying to help, didn't care about anyone in any condition. Total disappointment!

Horrible. No one should come here even it's emergency. Staff are very unprofessional. During a whole night, most patients given up and went home without seeing a doctor. The staff told me 16 hours just sitting on a chair. No bed, nothing. If you ask them for any options, they refuse.
Follow up review. I have to say that the emergency department has space to improve. There many things can be done much better, including the communication with patients, provide a little bit simple and easy support to their patients. It will make a big difference. I don't think it's difficult.
Since it's a small hospital, there are lots of hardware limitations. But that's understandable, I won't complain about it.
Most staff in ward are nice and caring.

I went twice to Ryde Emergency due to an episode of really bad heartburn. The first time the nurse gave me medication and I decided not wait to see the Dr because there was many people before me. I felt better and went home.

Yesterday I went back again around 11:00 pm and I waited for 5 hours. There was not many people, but the service was bad only 3 drs on the floor looking after hospitalised patients and emergencies. Only one male nurse was caring and kind. The lady from the front desk was very lovely and compassionate. Overall the staff looked very tired and overworked.

In the future I don't want to go back to that hospital, I waited 5 hours for nothing I didn't see the Dr after all, was very tired and they gave me a medication to numb my throat, so I went home. I had to book an app with the GP during the day.

This hospital needs an urgent shake up. I visited the hospital for an emergency and gave up and returned home after waiting for almost 2 hours. I saw other patients leaving as well. The hospital staff are friendly but there is a serious lack of doctors to attend to patients in a timely manner. Governments should step up and spend money on what matters to people the most. Every damn government is overlooking health care over other areas that do not directly benefit its citizens.
