My son was born with a congenital anomaly, as a result he was bullied by his peers whilst a student at Redbend Catholic College. The bullying was ignored by staff which eventually led to him acting out. Instead of dealing with the bullying, the school chose to subject him to solitary confinement by way of in school suspension, which further impacted his mental health.

Nothing has changed over the years as far as the Catholic Church and education are concerned. In my experience, the school does not deal with bullying and it chooses to sweep their dirty laundry under the carpet rather than dealing with bullying occurring at the school. Zero consideration is given to children and their health and well-being, it’s all about the image of the institution.

If you value your child’s education and their long term health and well being, do not send them to Redbend Catholic College.
