My son started using the gym and signed up for fortnightly payments. When he became unwell and uni semester changed ( and had only used the gym 3 times ) - he contacted Kareela left messages and went in to cancel his membership. He was promised they would cancel and refund. I have now left another message for someone to get back to me - the direct debits continue to go ahead. No contact. You are only to quick to sell sell sell and sign up memberships but when it comes to support - you cant find anyone. When calling head office for support - NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!! no options .... Disappointing but not unusual to hear of another gym with a " i dont give a shit now you are paying " attitude.

My ongoing experience in the Plus Fitness Kareela branch is in one word ‘fantastic’ . The staff are friendly and always willing to help. In addition, the staff are ever so willing, if asked, to guide you on how to use the machines correctly, and in the beginning, given that I was in my seventies and new to a gym I constantly asked questions.

The gym & fitness equipment are very old. Too many people at once for such a small gym and there is not enough equipment for everyone. There is not enough free space for everyone to do safe exercises.
Rubber mats stinks terrible!! You must replace them with the new ones! I don't use them anymore as I am afraid of get an infection.
Too many members for such a small gym!

Mell and her staff are absolutely lovely! As soon as i walk in the door i’m greeted with a friendly smile and always walking around making sure everything is running smoothly. the gym is also kept in fantastic condition! I don’t know how people could write such negative reviews!!

Sept-23: Still no refund from these scabs that helped themselves to direct debit from my account for weeks after I cancelled - bank is investigating for fraud
*Update* Despite the below response, the owner of the gym refused to send me the form they are referring to on multiple occasions. Otherwise I would have filled it out and returned it because like they said, it is a simple process. They are also refusing to refund the 6 weeks worth of fees taken after the cancellation was requested despite the cancellation period being 2 weeks notice.

BEWARE! Mell is illegally taking funds from my account despite cancelling the membership numerous times.
*update* I am now receiving threats from Mell over this review. Still no cancelation acceptance and still no refund for fees illegally charged post cancellation.
*update #2* instead of cancelling the membership as requested in line with their own 14 day policy, she is now threatening me with a fake solicitor. Not sure what’s wrong with this crazy woman but I’d avoid any agreements with them!

I've been going to Kareela Plus for 2 years and in that time I've had generally speaking a good experience. Facilities are clean, equipment in order and staff friendly enough. Recently I broke my wrist and was unable to go to the gym and they put my membership on hold two times which I was grateful for.

When my gym membership restarted I was not notified by any form of communication a simple email/call/text prior to the date would have been helpful to ensure I had funds ready for the payment. Consequently I was charged a dishonor fee on the day I restarted by payment (a hefty fee for someone impacted by covid-19).

Overall I think the facility and equipment are great, meaning that the price of membership is quite good. However the customer Service and the payment provider unfortunately has impacted on my experience with Plus Fitness Kareela and therefore I believe the business is an average 24/7 gym.

Great gym, well maintained, good atmosphere. I've been a regular member for about four years and it has continued to offer new updates equipment the entire time.
