Beautiful rural surrounds. Fairy wrens and zebra finches all around the lodge. Good rooms. But there is strong smell from the nearby cattle yards! But its worth the beautiful quiet spot.

It’s a Fantastic and amazing place. Views are stunning, everything thing is impeccable and comfortable. I stayed because I had to go to the area for business, but I will be returning with the family to enjoy it with them. Rob is very friendly and helpful.

Great place for a break to the Gulgong/Mudgee area. Stayed in the 'Glass House' which is self-contained accommodation. Great views from the accommodation and has all the cooking facilities, etc that you need. We also got a 4 nights for the price of 3 package so the value was very good. Access is via gravel road but good condition so should not be an issue for most cars. There is several accommodation options (7 in total with 6 in close proximity to each other) but this means that you don't get that romantic 'on your own' feeling, but we knew that. They need to do a bit of housekeeping around the accommodation. The paving has weeds, the outdoor lounge is a bit worn, etc but that did not really affect our stay. The Glass House does not have any curtains in the main living area so if you have 4 people and 2 are on the sofa lounge they will be seeing the sun come up very early. Penty of plates, etc The photo on the web site showing the bathroom in the Glass House is old and has been updated and now has a bath with a great view. If you have a group it is possible to book the Glass House and the 2 end 'Glass Studios' and there would be enough plates, seats, etc in the Glass house to do the cooking, etc

Wow, I feel like I won’t write this well enough to convey how happy we were with our stay.|From the easy and seamless booking through to checkout, we had the most amazing stay here. My husband and I with our two children, stayed in one of the modern shearer’s cottages. From the moment we drove into the driveway, we felt an immediate sense of peace. Once unpacked, we took a stroll up the country driveway, we stopped to chat to the gorgeous friendly animals in the paddocks along the way. |The accomodation was immaculately clean, spacious, & every single little thing had been thought of. The beds were so comfortable, heating was perfect on a cold night, the toiletries provided were of top quality & smelt gorgeous. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there on this occasion, & the family time was beautiful. The pool looks it would be lovely in summer with a wide deck, with views right over the countryside. There was a lovely fire pit area behind our accomodation, with a good supply of wood available. It was a quick drive into Gulgong for dinner, & an easy 20min drive into Mudgee the next day for our sporting commitments. |We will 100% be back again, & would highly recommend Owl Head Lodge to anyone.

We treated ourselves to the 4 for 3 deal in Glass Cottage and absolutely loved it. Being winter we took the chill off the air when we arrived with the RC air con but soon needed only the fire for the whole cottage to be toasty warm for four days. Thanks to Rob for the generous supply of well seasoned firewood. The full kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom a thing of beauty, and the rural outlook from anywhere in the cottage refreshing. Walks on dusk were bracing, peaceful and beautiful. Everything considered Glass Cottage would have to be the best AirBnB style accommodation I’ve stayed in.

What a magnificent place! The perfect venue for a group of old school friends to meet up after more than 30 years. We each had our own "cottage" so we had privacy when wanted plus a comunal hub in a central cottage. Wonderful views, beautiful sunrises, well stocked and very clean,, we couldn't have found better. Friendly staff as well. Different people in our group are already planning to go back. Whether for a couple, family gathering or friends, this is a great find!

My husband and I stayed in the west cottage a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. The cottage had everything we needed and was so quiet and peaceful. The sunsets were amazing and loved walking around to say hello to all the animals on the property. It was only a 15 minute drive from Mudgee but far enough away from the crowds. Would definitely recommend Owl Head Lodge you anyone looking for somewhere beautiful to stay in the area.

Loved the location, views and property in general. We stayed in the Shearer's shed. Our room was immaculately clean, bed was comfortable and lots of little extras like cereal and hot chocolate. We used the BBQ and had our evening meals overlooking the mountains (& neighbouring sheep).
