Great selection of classes with professional and friendly fitness instructors. The reception staff are very welcoming and responsive. The gym offers a wide range of high-quality equipment with regular updates. It’s always clean, and the air conditioning is perfect on hot days. There are plenty of parking spots, and it’s great value for money. I couldn’t imagine a better gym for myself.

Great long time gym. The classes are mostly full so you have to book them now, but the majority of them are included in your access fee.
Super friendly staff and a great community of people. Definitely one of the better gyms around (if not the best!)
We have a great group of people at the 5:30am classes, which are the perfect way to start your day!
My son has also recently started going to NSG and we have found the PT's work great with him. It has really helped his confidence and gives him a great outlet while studying.
Cannot recommend getting yourself (and your kids) into some regular exercise - the mental health benefits are huge, and NSG is the perfect place to do it!

LOVE training at NSG. Always super friendly staff on the front desk to greet me and I can always find space in the weights section to do my training. It’s a really comfortable, inclusive and friendly place to train.

PT sessions with Ellie were great if you’re looking for personalised training.

Really enjoyed the private sauna room (you need to book + it’s an additional cost on top of membership, but worth it!).

Only thing I’ve had an issue with is parking - I find you need to get there early in the morning - between 6-7:30am seem to be peak times - otherwise you may not find a parking spot. Only happened to me a handful of times.

All in all, a great gym with everything I need, friendly, helpful staff and a real sense of community amongst the members.

EDIT - After posting this review, Ben came up to me to offer me some great solutions for when I’m struggling to find a park. He was so friendly and grateful for the kind words in my review - total legend!

Best gym I have ever been to.
The gym is kept always on point clean and tidy.
It is spacious and equipped and there are plenty of different types of classes.
The staff is always helpful and kind.
However, what really makes the difference with this gym is a unique and precious relationship between trainers and the people that come here. This is not only a gym this is a strong beautiful powerful community that embraces everyone. It's amazing and I am proud to be part of it 💪! Come and join! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!

Joining this Gym was one of my best decisions of this year. Amazing layout and equipment variety, ample parking, spacious area and open windows ! and I absolutely love the weight area with the bare ceiling concrete. But the most important factor is the people you'd meet hear both members and attendants. I'm somehow an uncomfortable introvert but I definitely feel relaxed and happy in this gym. Thank you.

Heading into North Shore Gym’s weights pit feels like diving into a pool, but instead of water, it’s just thick, muggy air. Working out there is a test of lung capacity more than strength. Legend has it the owner’s too stingy to turn on the aircon, probably because he’s in a long-standing feud with the electric company or genuinely believes we all need a taste of hot yoga during our deadlifts.

The bathrooms? Picture a scene from an archaeological dig, except instead of discovering ancient artifacts, you find tiles begging for retirement. They’re a tribute to the 60s, and not in a cool, vintage way.

The equipment might just have been there since the gym’s grand opening—whenever that was. Let’s just say if the machines and free weights could talk, they’d have some interesting tales from the past century.

Located in Sydney’s posh North Shore, you’d expect a fitness palace, but it feels more like a forgotten rugby club’s back room. It’s as if the owner, Ronnie, is playing a game of “how vintage can we go before it’s just a museum?”

Bright side? The young staff at the front desk are rays of sunshine in this otherwise gloomy time capsule, and Kate the barista is the unsung hero of this saga, serving coffee so divine it momentarily transports you to a better place.

Ronnie, mate, it’s great you’ve got the biggest gym around, but maybe it’s time to splash some cash on more than just the square footage. How about an aircon that works and a trip to this century for the bathrooms and gear? Your members will thank you—once they stop gasping for air, that is.
