Our Jetstar flight was cancelled last night due to mechanical problems, but the team at Newcastle Airport were amazing. The way they supported all the passengers and made arrangements for us all at short notice was fantastic. Not an easy job with a plane full of passengers wanting to get to Melbourne either to return hone or to get to the Grand Prix. Well done

Newcastle Airport feels new at the moment I think the current upgrades and future plans contribute to this. Its compact size ensures minimal walking distances. However, limited dining options and lack of direct international flights are drawbacks. Future plans include terminal expansion and improved facilities, promising an enhanced travel experience.

A great regional airport in the middle of a large upgrade that will be completed in 2025. It will welcome more domestic flights and introduce international.Good passenger screening, comfortable waiting areas.

Lucky to have this airport up the road, doing some international flights. However, stating online that it's necessary to arrive three hours early but then calling the first connecting flight domestic and, ergo, not opening the desks for 1.5 hours for check in is really frustrating. Please update.

Inside the terminal is better than outside. The parking is very 'bitsy' for non locals.
For a major regional airport, finding a park and then lugging your luggage on a long foot path which is not covered, guarantees you'll get soaked! A multi-story carpark needed to be built many years ago and the need is still there. There are signs to gates 1, 2, 3 & 4. No signs at all for Gate 5. Announcements calling for final boarding, started 45 minutes before scheduled take off and through Gate 5, Angst and a rush from the bar and eateries...for all passengers trying and find Gate 5, set in. It was hidden down a corridor to Gate 4, where an entire plane of passengers were also waiting to go through Gate 4. A few laughs were had amongst passengers... 🤣
The terminal is clean and the drop off area fine, but a few fundamental basics when dealing with large groups would provide an easier process for customers when departing Newcastle airport.
We did the 'brace' position as soon as we were seated on the plane....not due to an emergency, rather due to the stress of just getting on a flight.

Don’t bother recycling. It all ends up in the same bin anyway.
Apart from that it seemed like a nice airport.

Despite the building site outside, the departure terminal had a good selection of eating venues plus live music! A young woman singing & playing acoustic guitar was the perfect experience as we sat waiting for our plane.
