One of the most important & divine “educational for both students AND the public” organisations we have left (not just in Sydney, including Australia). I only first heard of it when dear Claire Sandford graduated as top-of-year with First Class Hons. Later I lived 5 mins walk away & came here every time I had free time on a Saturday to experience incredibly beautiful exhibitions FOR FREE. Many further years later I now come here to do precisely the same. If you have ANYONE in your life who loves art & adores seeing how exhibitions get curated - send them HERE! It’s divine x

A very informative tour organised by the HHT took us inside all the buildings and a view of the archives as well as a fascinating history of the buildings and of all its past avatars before it became the NAS in 2005.

This school has some wonderful ghost stories, and it is very near to gay clubs, which is very nice and artists can come anytime to have fun, here are some library photos with stonewall riot history xx

My husband and I recently got married at the National Art School and it was absolutely sensational! The staff we worked with, Jerome and Olivia, we’re incredibly supportive, helpful and diligent in helping us to organise our dream day. The venue itself blew our guests breath away! We had our ceremony on the library lawns, our canapés and cocktails were served in the Courtyard and then our reception was held in the Cell Block Theatre. What an absolute dream! I highly recommend this venue as a space to create a truly wonderful experience for everyone involved. Huge thanks to the team at the NAS!

Don't recommend short courses. Not very helpful and some teachers are very discouraging while courses are too expensive?. Recommend free lessons on YouTube, or learn from qualified teachers/good artists. Many choices are out there globally~~

I don't appreciate being accosted by security guards the moment i set foot through the gates. The guards might be better utilised sticking to their mobile phone addiction and leaving local residents alone
