This is a beautiful, calm space where everyone is made to feel welcome. The teachers take the time to work through each individuals issues, so they get the most from the class. I have lost 7 kilos and no longer take 8 painkillers a day. It has been hard work, but I have enjoyed the journey. There are no show ponies and the atmosphere is positive and down to earth.

This place is wonderful. The instructors are fantastic and so competent. The space is beautiful and the groups are very friendly. I love this place and it adds so much to my life in the Bay (and I am getting so much stronger without injuries). I couldn’t have found something as perfect where I used to live in Sydney and definitely not at that price. There are many classes of different levels as well as yoga. I started Reformer
Pilates under the recommendation of
my Physio who diagnosed degeneration of the Lumbar spine like many people in early 60 so I quit the weight classes that sent me
to him in the first place, and now love the new challenges of Pilates. I have always done a lot of exercise but this is so much better for my arthritis and my balance!! Balance is what we all need and it really shows during my bush walks: my cores are automatically on and I am more confident. There are plenty of young and old people attending the studio. Some are super fit and some have injuries or are very senior but it is not a worry as your instructor will adapt the routine for you or direct you in a harder or easier class if need be. The different instructors are all fantastic and introduce slightly different routines which keeps you very focused and it is great for your cognition as well (you won’t day dream or look at you watch). I do brand new exercises every week so it is never boring and I go 3x/week. NAKARMA is a real treasure for Port Stephens!

Life changing…..after a serious accident requiring replacement of the discs in my neck my surgeon advised that I should take up Pilates to restore strength to my neck and spine. The team at Nakarma have understood what I needed to improve and have worked respectfully to return me to full health. It’s always a joy to attend a class and receive personal attention by a highly skilled and knowledgeable team and fun to laugh along with the others in the class.

Have found NAKARMA to beneficial for my arthritic knees. Didn’t think more movement would help them but I am on no painkillers at all . At the moment I’m putting off my knee surgery . Also find I haven’t been to chiropractor for 12 months as the stretching has improved my mobility at lot. Highly recommend for people who don’t like extreme exercise . Staff & management are extremely knowledgeable & lovely,caring people.Have been a member for 4 yrs & I’m 67. I hope this helps .

I would recommend Lisa’s Reformer Classes to anyone! Initially I was very hesitant about using the reformer but Lisa’s encouragement and support made all the difference.
