I'm not usually one for museums, but this one is fabulous. The local stories are set individually in sections across three storeys of the amazing old flour mill. Just to wander through the building itself is marvellous.

Story settings on aboriginal, bushranger, world war, shearing, farming, craft work, old fire engines & carts, family history themes, etc. And the cricket bat exhibit had us giggling!

$5 per concession holder & it took us a very casual hour as we read the stories that interested either of us. For the bobbin lace enthusiast, there is an extensive display both on view & in large, pull out display drawers.

This museum really is a credit to all the people involved - likely volunteers. So we hope younger locals value their heritage & help out.

Such a cool place! Spent more time than planned. Lots of local history, very well maintained and way bigger than it looks from the outside. Very friendly staff as well.

Uralla is full of surprises. Well worth a stop. Great history of the local area and the people within. Additional information about Captain Thunderbolt. Nicely put together over 2 floors. The collection of artwork hanging on the wall was wonderful. Country towns have so much to offer by way of history. Bushranges, Gold rush, sporting legends, families of note.

Amazing museum. So much history over 3 floors, from when it was a mill to Captain Thunderbolt oh and even a basement type area with more history including an early fire engine.
