I booked this on Bookings.com and later came across the poor Google reviews and felt a bit apprehensive! We had an absolutely fantastic stay and don’t know what all the Google reviews are about.

Check in was smooth, and staff were very helpful during our stay. We brought our little miniature schnauzer and we were provided with dog bowls and felt very welcome.

Our apartment very large, and absolutely spotless. The carpet was impeccably clean. Very very comfortable beds and pillows, large TV and appliances all worked well with everything you could need for a kitchen holiday apartment. We had a room service once for our three nights which was completely adequate with all the cleaning facilities in the room. There is free street parking outside.

The only legitimate thing from the Google reviews is that the single lift is very slow, but this is really a non issue in the scheme of things for a holiday. Overall a great stay and good value for money. We will return! Thank you!

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with my husband and 2 kids. The rooms are very spacious and having a kitchenette and washer dryer are very convenient.

However, everything else was disappointing and cheap. Some of the furniture and fittings are more ‘modern’ but everything is mismatched. You can tell that they have spent the bare minimum to make any upgrades. During our 3 night stay we had to kill several mosquitos in the room which was concerning.

The service is also terrible. The phone in the room doesn’t actually connect to reception. The receptionist also told us that not all rooms have a hair dryer, so he had to go find one from another room.

Lastly, whilst we are happy to have the linen changed only on the third day, no cleaner has come in to at least empty the bins and do a quick tidy up, which is something you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The supply room near the lift had been left unopened during our whole stay, which is messy and unkempt.

Because it was a peak season and we were not able to book 2 bedrooms from day 1, we had to swap rooms midway in the stay. When checking in, I mentioned if I can check in for both rooms in one go and to my surprise there was already a note on record to notify the team that I had a second booking. ||||Check in was done for both rooms and on the day of the swap, the staff even brought the key to the new room to our current room and helped us with the transfer.||||Platinum status was also recognised with free car park which is fantastic. The car park is also very convenient and spacious. Definitely will come back.

When I asked for more to hand wash my baby’s bottles, the receptionist told me that they don’t provide them any more and offered me the dishwasher powder. The next day I spotted plenty of dishwashing liquid sachets on the cleaner’s trolley. ||The cleaning service from the housekeeping on the third day was messy and rushed. They had dropped my baby’s dummy on the carpet and forgotten to put the lid back on the bin in bathroom. The supply room near the lift had been left opened during our whole stay, which is messy and unkempt.||To top it all off, the lift is extremely slow and doesn’t even display which level it is currently on. At peak checkout time at 10am, quite a few families were taking the fire stairs.

Just arrived at the Mantra Wollongong. Am staying in a 2br apartment and its beautiful and beyond my expectations. After i read some reviews i was a little nervous due to some negative comments . Its so spacious, light, clean and has everything you could want and need. Large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and laundry, lovely big balconies that lead off both bedrooms, large bathrooms as well and a huge living/dining area. The ladies on reception were very helpful and friendly and i even met some of the lovely housekeeping staff in the lift. Parking is available onsite and only $15/n which is more than reasonable as i recently paid $40/n in Sydney.

We stayed here as it was close to the hospital. We booked two nights in a one bedroom apartment which was clean with a big bathroom and new beds. Lovely balcony with views to the mountains. Enough crockery and cutlery (all very clean) for the two of us and it was great to have a microwave and toaster. Nice big fridge if you needed it.

The staff were exceptional, everyone from the cleaners to the reception girls. Considering it was a full house we didn't have to wait that long for the elevator each time we used it. Staying here considerably reduced our stress while dealing with going back and forth to the hospital. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed here over Xmas. I was a bit apprehensive with sone if the reviews I had read but I have to say we had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend. We stayed in a 2 bdr unit which was very roomy fir our needs, great comfy beds with an abundance of pillows and lovely linen. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole unit was extremely clean. We had a great comfortable stay (with our dog) and would definitely stay here again when next time in Wollongong. We found the staff super efficient and the location great for our needs. I note that other reviews did not have the experience we had but I can honestly say I have relatively high expectations when it comes to accommodation and I was so very happy with our decision to stay here

Not sure what all the fuss is about. We had an excellent experience. Plus they’re pet friendly! Very happy. Although the lift is not ideal.
