Matt is a great coach. He explains all the boating jargons and rules using clear and concise languages. Both me and my partner passed the test after the class. We would love to book more practice lessons with Matt on the water if he travels down to Sydney.

A couple of weeks ago I attended a Maritime Training School general boating licence course held in the Stockton Scout Hall. It was a full day course involving theory and practical boating skills. Matt Palmer was our instructor. His presentation and instructions were clearly articulated. Matt also clarified for me a number of points that I thought were not clearly explained in the NSW boating manual. Consequently, I was able to pass the licence exam without any issues. Significantly, Matt also provided us with Tim Tams for morning tea. A nice bonus.

We had a great time with Matt during the course. We prepared by reading the relevant handbooks and did the online tests beforehand and I think that was valuable as we were able to get more out of the course by gaining valuable insights in marine matters. Matt is a very patient, calm and forthcoming teacher who explains things extremely well. I think it is valuable to do the course with attached practical and get everything done in one day. You miss out on information (e.g. why certain rules make sense) if you do everything on your own. Thanks Matt and wife Annette.

Well done Matt. Enjoyed the day, even if I continually thought like a sailor not a power boat operator. Would have loved to have spent more time on the water in that great boat of yours without the wind and confused seas. Thanks for your great instructions and clear explanations.
