I’ve been going to Kings Academy for the adult BJJ beginner classes for a bit over a month now. I’d never trained in any martial arts before but since going to Kings it’s made me wish I started so much sooner. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, it really feels like stepping in to a community every time you arrive. If you’re thinking about starting don’t wait anymore and give it a go. I’m a complete beginner and have experienced nothing but respectful, professional and friendly staff!

My son tried one BJJ kids class. He is 4, the class is from 3 to 12 years old kids, and he was the youngest one. Many kids took part in the class, with 3/4 teachers. The main instructor showed few techniques and the kids were asked to find someone of their size and try it out, which is what usually happens in a normal martial arts class. My son was quite lost, being his first lesson. Few teachers helped him out, but none explained him the basic concepts of BJJ and what he should/shouldn't do. I think it would be useful to run a separate class for smaller kids, with more games. I will bring him again when he will grow up.

I have been taking my 10yo son here every day for one week only, but I’ve never seen him more excited and looking forward to something that involves him doing exercise.

The coach to student ratio is unbelievable (4 coaches for 13 kids last BJJ lesson) it feels almost like private lessons.

The staff are friendly and you can see they care about actually passing on their skills to the kids. Money well spent.

Great place to train!

Culture: Kings Academy has a great atmosphere and culture, everyone is friendly and there to train, learn and grow.

Facilities: This place has everything you need to start training or improve your martial arts, it has a mma cage, boxing ring and Sauna.

Coaches: The Coaches are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and invested in making your skills grow in whateverdisciplineyou train. Having Elvis and his team with experience at the elite levels is practically demonstrated in classes and reflects in the other students.

Staff: The staff are friendly and accommodating, greet you by name so you feel like part of the family when you walk through the door.

Overall: Great place to train with good people running the gym and training at the gym. If you're thinking about trying it out don't hesitate, you will not regret it.

- Coaches are experienced and friendly.
- The facility is clean and provides all needed equipment and space.
- Some bad practices: teaches many useless moves for the sake of their arbitrary curriculum. You must pay to grade, and you're pretty much guaranteed to pass if you decide to grade.
- Striking classes are pretty random. Think of them more as a good cardio session than a striking class. Their BJJ classes are good, and their wrestling classes are excellent.
- Typical "McDojo" practices: long term contracts (1 year), have to give 2 week notice to pause membership, pay to grade, must buy their merch. Also pretty expensive relative to others

Overall, it's okay. A bit overpriced, but if it's the closest one near you, then it's a good start. Once you advance more, start visiting other gyms, but this one will teach you the basics.
