The kindness, care and skill shown by swim coaches at this school is exceptional. At the beginning of the year my daughter was scared to put her face in the water and by the end of term she was spending more time under the water than above. Her confidence and water skills have continued to steadily improve throughout the year and we now have a little mermaid whose weekly class with Vanessa is the highlight of her week. I cannot recommend Kick Learn to Swim highly enough. I only wish we had started sooner.

Firstly, it’s a warm, indoor pool, so immediately removes one of the potential barriers to kids swimming lessons. (We had a child who flat out refused lessons at the local council owned pool because it was very cold getting in, even in summer.)

We have had four different instructors in our time at Kick and after each lesson, my son always claims the current teacher to be the favourite! They are all friendly, child focused and go at the child’s pace.

Although I chose Kick because it was a heated pool and convenient location, what I like most now is the system of lessons that they provide. Kick focuses on establishing proper technique from the very beginning. Small skills are practised and practised until they are subconscious actions. The repitió over the term means correct technique is ‘burned’ into the muscle memory. Each lesson is half an hour and moves quickly.

I am constantly impressed at the instructors ability to hold the attention of small children and gain their cooperation by establishing a good relationship.

The classes are small (two or three at most, occasionally a ‘class’ will end up one-on-one) and sometimes with two instructors.

If you are keen for your child to progress to squad swimming, this is the place you want to be. And if you just want your child to be confident and safe in the water, this is the place to be.

As I said, my only complaint is that we didn’t start here in the first place.

Fantastic instructors and a really fun and welcoming environment. We first started attending KICK when my daughter was 6 months old (now close to 3) and we have now joined with my son (joined at 6 months). Instructors we have had include Adriana, Erika and Alexandra and they have all been so incredibly patient and gentle. Both my kids are now so confident and happy in the water. Thank you!
