Went out this morning with my daughter for lessons and had the best experience. I have been to a few different surf schools but no other has been as fun and successful. Easy to find and everything provided for a great price. Jack explained everything so clearly. He was so calm and great with kids too! We both caught some waves in and loved it! Highly recommend. We recently had the pleasure of attending surf lessons at the Institute of Froth, and it was an incredible experience for my 3 kiddies! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Jack- a friendly and passionate instructor who made us feel right at home. His enthusiasm for surfing was infectious and really added to the whole experience.
The lessons were well-structured, catering to all skill levels, and I appreciated how Jack took the time to ensure everyone felt comfortable in the water.

Jack/Institute of Froth is awesome! We’re so lucky to have this recent small business addition to the local area.
It’s great to be able to get our son out in the ocean regularly (given how busy life can get and not being a surfer myself), learning ocean and surf skills.
As a coach/teacher, Jack is flexible, enthusiastic, and super patient and kind with our son.
Great experience all round - we’ll definitely be continuing?

Our 2 daughters (13 and 16) loved their first surf lesson with The Institute of Froth. Their instructor Jack was easygoing and encouraging helping them feel comfortable in the water and giving great tips to work on their technique. Booking was really easy with a quick call back from Jack after leaving a message on voicemail. The girls had a great time and next time we're in Terrigal/ Avoca we'd happily book another lesson with Jack.

My seven year old son has now taken several lessons with Jack having never surfed before.
Despite my son often being apprehensive when trying new things, Jack was able to very quickly put him at ease and keep him motivated and having a great time. My son has loved the lessons and we couldn’t be happier!

My son and his friend had a private lesson with Jack. From the moment we arrived Jack connected with the kids and made them feel safe. In the short time he had with the boys, they learnt so much and can’t wait to do weekly lessons after school. If you’re looking for a surf school, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

My son had his first surf lesson with Jack and he had the most amazing time. My son is visually impaired and Jack was very patient, calm and able to teach him in a way that was very easy to understand. He is super keen to book in for more lessons and improve the skills he learnt.
