I have played for this club since my first year u12’s and have enjoyed every single year. We have fantastic coaching staff, an amazing group of team players and outstanding Administrators running our association. Our growth and development over these years is the fastest growing in the metro league from u12’s through to NBL1 both men and women.

Fantastic family basketball club, that nurtures its juniors with great coaches and managers. Encourages players from a very young age through to NBL1, with a platform to NBL and beyond.

I have tolerated this clubs nonsense all year and finally I have been left with no choice but to leave a review here. The fact that they don’t even bother to reply to any of these damning reviews on google sums up how arrogant they are and that they just want to take your money. They said that this spring season is now under new management, so I decided that I would give them another chance, although in the previous season I was threatened by the staff and management with their kangaroo court to have me banned from the premises for complaining about their no communication policy, crazy I know, but my kids just want to play basketball and it’s the only option in the area. Unfortunately, the management may be slightly different, but it’s the same old horrible people who are in key positions, so nothing has changed. After I paid the registration fee for the season, (which does not include uniforms, trophies, coaching staff or even training days, we had to form our own team with people we don’t even know and find our own parent coach and manager!), halfway through the season they have told me that I need to pay another fee per child for player insurance, I refused to pay this as it was not communicated at any stage of the registration process and what does the registration fees cover? My two sons turned up to play on the weekend, only to be told by a staff member that they are not allowed to play anymore because the added hidden fee has not been paid. Understandably they were upset and left in tears. I have now filed a complaint with ACCC and NSW fair trading, I spoke with Di who is handling the case, her phone number is, nine, five, double six, eight, six, double four, she stated that if enough people complain then she has to act, please give her a call if you have had a similar shocking experience and let’s get these mongrels removed and away from our poor children!

Completely biased account but the amazing work that goes into running this club and growing it from a small consent to a strong NBL1 contender is a huge feat. The incredible hours devoted by passionate volunteers, like all our sporting clubs, just to give our kids opportunities to grow and have fun, is mainly behind the scenes. Thank you to you all. So when people like ‘Shane’ want to complain that’s frustrating but it goes with the territory. However when they become abusive and rude and use names despite themselves remaining essentially anonymous then that is just unacceptable. Using 5 minutes of keyboard warrior time to undermine thousands of hours of people’s dedication and hard work is weak. Anyone who takes the time to approach the club in a civil manner gets heard and helped. The other person complaining about a wet court causing a cancellation needs to understand safety first. The club doesn’t own the building it does it’s best with what is available. As for a refund, did you ask for one. A simple email would work.
Finally ‘Shane’ while you might think it’s ok to make rude comments publicly all you have done is show why the club would be better off not seeing your face, horrible, handsome or who cares, ever again.

Completely agree with other reviews, my children also encountered the extra payment mid-season without notice and were told by the staff member on the court that the boys cannot play anymore until the BNSW insurance fee is paid, if I knew this from the start I would not have paid the very expensive registration fee to begin with. Now I am in limbo about what to do next, as my boys really enjoy playing basketball there each Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately the management staff interfere from a far and completely ruin the experience. Just let the kids play and leave them alone! I filed a complaint with NSW fair trading and they were going to contact the Management. If anyone needs information on who to contact, please feel free to email me and I will pass on the details from Fair trading

BTW those complaining about fees. Every club has to charge the BNSW fee for insurance. It’s not hidden. You would behave been informed at the beginning. You should have paid it before you set foot on a court. Go somewhere else and see if you get to avoid it. Maybe you’ll find a club that doesn’t insure your kids and can rent courts and pay referees etc with peanuts.

I’m going to start with a PSA to all.
ALL basketball clubs have two separate fees. One is Season/game fees, and the second is mandatory annual insurance which is with Basketball New South Wales to play in a club. The fee is paid annually and will be due from when one year from when you last paid. It’s not a hidden fee, nor is it unique to this club which we don’t currently play in and has always been a requirement to participate in organised competitions in NSW.

From reading all the reviews below, I see that communication from the club seems to be a key issue. I am hoping things will change and that they do eventually publicly acknowledge and address the feedback to bring things forward.

As for my personal experience so far: Currently we are the process of my son trying out for reps for the first time this year, and I have nothing but positive feedback about the communication as well as perceived organisation of the whole process. Everything was clearly listed out in the emails outlining what will happen, when, and what the expectations are from the club as well as from the parents. I was so impressed with the quality of coaches and transparency of the trials that I felt compelled to give this positive feedback to the organisers which I did via email.
I don’t know what the past was like, but if my experience so far is a reflection of what the club will be like moving forward, then it’s a 5 stars from me.

I seldom left discouraging comments but this club is very badly organised and treated their customers unprofessionally and with no respect. After our kids were registered with the club and paid for the registration, there were no communications about when the game season starts, no coach or manager assigned, and even not enough team players organised for the season where the team has to forfeit a few games initially. We ended up organising everything ourselves, finding our own coach and players who then registered with the club for the season, but with only a few games left for the season, they suddenly told our kids that they have to register and pay extra before they can continue to play. This should have been communicated to our team at the start of the season, but they obviously missed it as no one (including our coach/manager) received any communications about this additional registration and costs. A lot of our players then left the club because of this bad communication on the registration and additional cost. Even though our team has got to the finals, they did not allow those who did not pay extra to play in the final. The staff treated people in a really rude and unprofessional manner, and did not reflect on what they could have done better to communicate with the teams, parents and coaches/managers. This is the worst sporting club I have ever experienced, and I would strongly recommend not to join this club given all the negative experiences a lot of parents have gone through.
