My husband and I attended this class while pregnant with our second baby. We had quite a hard and stressful first labour and delivery and really felt this class empowered us and gave us insight into all of our options this time around. This class also helped my husband to feel confident in ways he can support me during labour! Highly recommend for first time parents or second time parents who want to have all the knowledge!! Alyssa did a wonderful job of creating a safe space for anyone to ask questions and to learn and grow! Everyone needs this class!!

We attended both the Birth Class and the 4th Trimester class and found both really in-depth and left feeling confident and educated about not just my birth choices, but the local stats for both our regions hospitals.

Covering everything from vaginal, cesarean, natural, medicated and induction birth to baby wearing, I felt this class covered everything we needed to know going in as first time parents.

I also booked a baby wearing class privately to get Bub fitted correctly in my carrier, and that has definitely made baby wearing much more comfortable now.

I can’t recommend Alyssa and Illawarra Birth Classes enough.
Attending it as first time parents, it was so refreshing to learn and be equipped in the environment that she fosters. As a dad, I loved getting to learn about birth, pregnancy and postpartum. The classes not only taught us lots, but also allowed space for questions and discussions. They are a must for any expecting parents in the Illawarra region.

I can’t recommend these classes enough. Not anywhere else in the Illawarra can you find in person, unbiased, evidence based education on all things pregnancy, labour, birth, post natal recovery and even parenting. Alyssa is a wealth of knowledge in many areas including baby wearing!

I’ve seen first hand the amazing work she does both paid and volunteer to better the experience and outcomes for all families. You don’t need fancy clothes, blankets and rockers for, invest in your whole experience via education! 🙌💜

My hubby and I really appreciated attending the two courses that Alyssa teaches and left the courses more equipped for the birth and the 4th trimester of our daughter.
I bought a massive birthing / parenting book at the beginning of my pregnancy by a well known paediatrician and when I read this I became overwhelmed with all information. In contrast Alyssa helped summarise all key birthing knowledge and helped me hone in on what I needed to know in preparation for birth and the 4th trimester.
Even though my labor was extended and my active pushing phase was very drawn out , I had an incredible vaginal birth of our first child with only gas and a tens machine as pain management ( still cannot believe how smoothly it went!). My partner also was Incredible help, he was active participant in the birthing experience and genuinely helpful for me and the midwife. The midwife asked him' you both have been to a birthing education class haven't you?' He confirmed. She said ' it's very obvious'. I put some credit and our confidence to Illawarra birthing class/ Alyssa and highly recommend her classes to anyone planning to have a baby .

We found the birth and fourth trimester classes invaluable when we were expecting our first, and the resources were excellent to refresh our memories when bub 2 came along!
