They have gone into receivership. We arrived Today for 3 nights - no notice that it was closed and we lost our money and had to scramble for other accommodation.

We have stayed there before and enjoyed it.

New owners are renovating and cleaning, not sure when it will be open again.
When it is, please give it a go as its a gorgeous old building with charm.

I don’t think my jaw has ever dropped so far as being shown my room in this hotel. We were simply looking for budget accommodation on our road trip and somehow ended up feeling like we were royalty. This hotel will take you back to a time long before you existed in the best kind of way. What an incredible find. Simply the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Get the Blue Room if you can. The elegance of the past (with the shower of the future). The staff were super generous with us too.

What a stunning house and place to stay.||Friendly service from the guy checking us in.||Remarkable amount of work done to return the house to it's former glory. Well done to the owners who have done that.||We had a large comfortable room with a seperate bathroom.|Bed was great. Breakfast was simple continental.||The house has a communal sitting room, with team and coffee making facilities, along with a fridge for your goodies.|The front rooms are made up in the style of the house and offer a great glimpse of a beautifully appointed home.||Fabulous viw from the tower, and the large verandah was a great place for a glass of wine as the sun went down.||Position is A1 - it's just a very short walk to the centre of Tenterfield (3 blocks).||Absolutely loved our stay. Remarkable value.|

Turned up tonight for a night booked on 13 March. Place has been sold. Haven't been offering accommodation since 03 Apr. Thanks for the heads up. Luckily the Peter Allen motel had one room left.

Quirky and needs ALOT of work, staff were friendly enough and price was cheap. I had a vase in my room with artificial flowers with black ?water in it.. not sure what that was about, alot of things not clean that could easily be. Fun for an overnight stay but more than that would be uncomfortable. Breakfast was lower than average for a continental, doubtful i would stay again, I really did want to love it. Also going up to the tower is pretty hazardous for older clientele ..beware!

A quite amazing historic house. The rooms are more or less original condition with the addition of strange modular showers,
It’s comfortable and clean but a lovely experience overall. You do feel like you’re stepping back in history. Also probably the cheapest accomodation in Tenterfield.
The view from the tower roof is spectacular.

Beautiful old house with rooms decorated in the eras style. I loved reading the history, and looking at beautiful decorating. Built 1888, It really made you imagine life 130 years ago!
We had our 2 children with us (9&11) and it was great, however might not be with small kids as lots of breakables about?
Many rooms you need to access via stairs, something to consider if not super mobile.
Manager was super helpful and lovely.
Breakfast was a basic continental of toast and cereal but for the price of the room was a good inclusion.
Shared kitchenette area to make tea/coffee etc, shared guest fridge and lounge area.
Thank you!
