I would recommend this course to anyone who'd like to improve their stand-up comedy skills and new starters in this space. It was a good experience to learn from comedians who have been doing this for years. They focused on how to write a set, delivery, understanding your audience and most importantly practising and getting comfortable with your content. I could see a huge improvement in myself from the first day I started. I'm glad I had amazing coaches who supported and groomed us for graduation day. Huge thanks to Gerry & Graham, you guys rock!

I have followed the stand up comedy scene for about 35 years and although I was always keen to give it a go, I just never got around to it. Finally I tried a few Open Mikes but never got much encouragement nor any guidance. Then I signed up for the School of Hard Knock Knocks course and went through an intensive week of being tutored in the art of stand-up comedy. I learned more in that week than I had in the previous 3 years of mucking around trying to learn off my own bat.
The enthusiastic support from the coaches and the students was fantastic. Even though I’d watched hundreds of comics over many years, I discovered many amazing elements of stand-up comedy I simply didn’t know. The art of timing, the importance of the word or phrase and how just one word can make it so much funnier, the structure & nuance of different joke types, body language & movement, how to engage a crowd, etc. We were fortunate to have the legendary Glynn Nicholas as our coach & mentor as well as the wonderful Gerry Masi & Morry Morgan offering valuable advice and support. That was the beauty of the course, extremely well qualified people taking a week of their time to take us through the art of stand-up comedy.
I thoroughly recommend this course to get you started in stand-up comedy. Even if you are just doing it for a hobby and don’t have any aspirations to be the next Jerry Seinfeld, it is still an excellent way of developing your public speaking skills.
