We’ve got a now retired guide dog which we raised as a family in a shared household of 12 in Bondi! It was an amazing experience for young people to share a dog and be able to help out for a great cause.

Al is still a semi-working pal always on the look to assist his new home owners. He is great, super positive and has got a few difficulties but amazing after all!

Super happy and proud to have supported such an amazing organisation!

The staff are not very helpful and used a patronizing tone to my father. They belittled him and there was only one useful staff helping with aids aside from the reception. The rest didn't listen to what his needs were/they seemed to use bureaucracy to back pedal

I have always had very positive experiences with this organisation although I dont have a guide dog. I spent some time years back on one of their consultative committees giving advice on aspects of mobility and the white cane. However, my experience when attempting to work through the NDIS with Guide Dogs services has been less than satisfactory. My NDIS Local Area Coordinator stated that all agencies knew the requirements for requesting assistive technology. However, after having stated this request to Guide Dogs at least three times, there was still no action that satisfied the NDIS LAC. When using any charity group in the NDIS process, be very very aware of requirements, criteria, forms and processes before you start. I believe that the structure of the NDIS itself has some inherent problems and although it is an evolving program, it still is not clear as to how it defines particular services, technologies and procedures.
