What’s really remarkable about her approach to freelance advocacy is her centring of disability and mental health in discussions where it’s often omitted out of shame, stigma and fear. Her compassion and vulnerability has helped pave the way for disabled professionals to start asking for the same respect and recognition as their non-disabled peers. Bek is acutely attuned to the inequalities and difficulties of living in a world not designed for us, but also celebrates the strengths, resilience and perspective that this engenders.

That reflectiveness and empathy is present in how she works with her clients and colleagues. She’s one of a kind.
