Be mindful no dogs allowed in gardens (or house) unlike some other national trust properties - a bit of a pity, it would be lovely if they reconsidered this policy to allow well behaved dogs on leash. The gardens are lovely and worth a visit - the house is less remarkable, mainly because it’s been stripped of a lot of the original art and furnishings - although what remains is a joy to see, considering it’s age. The ground floor is largely a tea room. Effectively there are two bedrooms and bathrooms and a dining room that are more or less original. The staircase and entrance are lovely and include original fitted furnishings. The bathrooms and views are quite unique.

Beautiful place to visit, small entry fee but very worth it for the size of the property and well maintained gardens. Unfortunately the ground floor of the house and the tea rooms were closed when we were there but it seems like it would be very nice to have a sitting there.

Magnificently maintained by team of motivated local volunteers, this garden invites the visitor to a map-guided journey to exquisit gardens, Australian bush views and magical pathways. My boys aged 8 and 9 loved navigating our walk and finding the landmarks on the map marked 1-10. Highly recommend.

Awesome place to visit - quite a lot to look at and walk around. The Lookout and Grotto Pool were my favourites. Coffee and scones were a nice morning tea to round it all off.

Lovely house and garden!
Not too busy for our weekday visit, so we enjoyed a very leisurely walk around the extensive grounds. House is a wonderful time capsule to a bygone era.

A highlight of Leura and well worth the visit, the beautifully curated Sorensen gardens offer a series of garden vignettes and vistas from the more formal gardens to the tranquil grotto offering expansive views across to Mount Solitary. It is also well worth purchasing a National Trust membership which will cover entry to their extensive range of historic homes and gardens across Australia 🙂
