I am an overseas license holder who recently migrated to Australia. While I have several years of driving experience, I needed to familiarise myself with Australian road rules and driving customs. Nicholas was an excellent instructor—calm, polite, and clear in his explanations.

During the first lesson, he quickly assessed my driving skills and honestly advised that I really didn’t require further lessons. He also did not insist on using the driving school car for the driving test and suggested I use my own car if I was more comfortable with it. I truly appreciated his honesty, but I still chose to book two additional lessons with him, including one on test day, for extra confidence.

I passed my driving test on the first attempt with a perfect score of 106/106. I highly recommend Essential Skills Driving School for anyone looking for a professional and reliable driving instructor.

I am extremely thankful to Nicholas for helping me to get my license in first attempt. I had very bad experience with other instructors of taking lessons and still not very confident to drive. As a mature aged driver I had put off getting my driver's licence for years due to anxiety on the road. But Nicholas instilled confidence in me from our very first lesson and encouraged me to finally give the driving test a go. After only 4 months of lessons together (about once a week) I passed my driving test on the first go! He was an incredibly patient, calm and detailed instructor and just an overall fun guy to drive around with. I can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you for everything Nicholas!

If you're going to be spending time and money in a car with someone teaching you to drive, you could not hope for a more professional, patient and friendly instructor than Nicholas. Having failed my test a couple of times back in the UK, I was pretty lacking in self-confidence - he quickly built up my confidence, made me realise how much I already knew and simplified all the new knowledge I needed. I passed first time here with 97% and was absolutely delighted to get my licence, though a little sad not to be continuing our excellent in-car banter! Highly recommend!
