A ‘life changing’ experience is what Darlo Drama is all about! Romney and Glen have created a gem of a place that lets you be the best version of yourself, where you not only learn the nuances of theatre acting but also learn to be comfortable with who you are and who you can be.. it’s a safe haven, a space and an opportunity to learn new crafts, make new connections and discover the joys of the world of performing arts! I would recommend everyone, from individuals to corporates, to experience the classes, training and activities presented by and at Darlo Drama!

Exceptional poor management and dodgy business model.

I feel bad for some good teachers and students there, as their talents are being wasted. One poor owner is enough to ruin the business. Unsure how someone who’s unfair and unprofessional like her is surviving in an industry that requires big collaboration. Anyone who takes acting seriously should look elsewhere.

I did trial, level 1, 2, 3 and the play, and have a pretty good understanding of their operations. There’s unrealistic expectations on your contribution as a client, though you can easily be part of the paid membership community. Remember to get enough of your friends and family to fund you a good role, it’s $20-30 each for your adult hobby group performance, otherwise you might only get few minutes on stage time.

The courses are unstructured. Dead and live cockroaches are regulars. There’s a few acting schools in Sydney. Choose wisely.

What an amazing place! I recently completed the Level 2 course at Darlo, after loving Level 1 so much. The teachers are fantastic, and so supportive of all students from all walks of life. I chose Darlo because they have been around for such a long time and have a solid reputation - but came back for the course content and brilliant teachers. Romney (the administrator who I was in contact with) answered any crazy questions I had in a timely and professional manner. Highly recommend Darlo to anyone looking to start a career in acting or if you are even just looking for a new hobby!

I came to Darlo Drama after trying a number of other Sydney acting schools and I've stayed for many years, doing numerous courses and now I love being part of the theatre community. They are unlike any other acting school in Sydney, fantastic for those just starting out or you can join their advanced courses if you've studied elsewhere. I came to Darlo Drama, and the acting course, after the trial class. It was only $25, so I figured I'd try it to boost my confidence a little. The taster was enticing enough to try the full level one course. What I got was not only an exponential increase in confidence, but also a great circle of friends with similar interests, an amazingly smooth learning curve during the course and a wonderful performance to top it off, along with a great celebration at the end. Really enjoyable course; great teacher and venue. I loved every second of it. It didn't feel like learning at all! And by the end I had improved so much just through play. Thank you Darlo Drama!
