Did a trail ride with Casey this morning and she was wonderful. I was nervous as it’s been many years since I last rode but she quickly made me feel at ease. Beautiful surroundings, we even spotted a wallaby in the bush. Highly recommend.

My 6yr old daughter attended pony camp on Tuesday 28/1. She was very excited but nervous also. She had a sweet horse named “Dobbie” who was so very vocal when being led up to the grass area as she was about to be brushed. Very quickly the lovely team at Darkes helped my Daughter relax and enjoy the time she had with Dobbie. She then got to get up in the saddle, my daughter’s confidence grew 100 times being on that horse! The girls were unreal with explain how to turn the horses, stop them or make them go. Mel, Sophie, Jess & Jules were absolutely wonderful and so very friendly. We will definitely be coming back to darkes.

I hadn’t ridden in a while, but I had an incredible time! My horse, Snail was an absolutely gorgeous boy and will be asking for him again. Our instructor, Jade, was friendly and engaging, happily chatting and pointing out the wildlife as we rode through the stunning bush while also providing guidance when needed. It was an amazing time and we’ll definitely be back!

We always take the grandkids during the school holidays for a one hour trail ride. They absolutely love it and get so excited on the day they are going.
Darkes Forest Riding Ranch's staff are fantastic. They have a sense of humour, make the kids feel comfortable and educate them on riding techniques.
It is located in a beautiful location south of Sydney.
They also make great hamburgers!
I highly recommend everyone to go.

I booked a 1 hour trail/bush ride for myself and 2 children. We all had an amazing experience, the kids really loved it. The staff were so kind and patient, they really took time to help my daughter overcome her nerves... by the end she was asking to return for pony day camp!!! The horses, not only the ones we rode but each horse we seen are so loved, calm and well cared for. We will return!!

Had a great time on the horses. Has purchased a trek for my mum, partner and sister for Christmas. The guides were very friendly and helpful and, even with no experience, we all felt confident on the trail. Would highly recommend

Purchased a 1 hour trail ride for the family as it was a Birthday present for my daughter.
Website was super easy to deal with.
Got contacted by one of the staff to sort out ages, and riding experience for all of us.
That way they could sort out which horses could be used.
They found a horse for me - being a larger man, so I got to experience it with the family myself. But knowing full well, that if the horse wasn’t ready, we weren’t going to push it. But I was very happy that all four of us got to experience the trail ride.

We had wonderful guides leading and following.
They had leads on the horses for my two children, which put them at ease and myself too.
They communicated all uphills and downhills to make sure we got in to position to aid the horses as well.
Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the horses we were riding, so we could sort of bond with and have the horses feel at ease with us.
I had a big Percheron called Valentine. He is a big horse, but very gentle. And I was extremely happy he was able to take me around.
My wife had Dolly, and my two bubbas had Dusty and Keggs.
Whether they matched temperament of the horses to us or not, I didn’t even ask, but we all had a great day.
The morning rain had made the bush trail rather silent, so we walked through a lovely trail that was glistening with rain shimmer but quiet so we could hear ourselves and the horses.
My daughter couldn’t stop talking about Keggs the whole way home. So it’s safe to say, she had a fantastic ride that day and lots of wonderful memories made.
