There are many things I can say how great Cataract Scout park is.

There are massive sites for different great and small activities.
The facilities and amenities are adequate and reasonable.
The outdoor activity sites are great.

Ive been coming here many times as 2009 until probably next few more years. Last week we spent a week Camporee here.

But there are few cons I have found lately.

The fee of the sites are now twice expensive from last couple of years.
Activity fees are also jumping too high.
This is the reason I can’t give 5 star.

However, If you are not concern with the fees, this place serve its purpose very well.

Cataract has always held a special place in my heart. The grounds are superb and there are numerous outdoor activists on offer, such as Challenge Valley, Caving, Zip Lining and Abseiling/Rock Climbing. The site has held numerous Cuborees, Jamborees and even a World Jamboree back in 1988 (which saw tens of thousands of Scouts visit the park). Cataract also holds school camps, with the dorms and catering being second to none. Overall, would highly recommended.

This is a well run activity centre.
Be prepared to take everything you need with you. Unlike some similar camps, there are no pots and in pans for example.

Great facilities on site however Baden Powell drive needs to be resurfaced. There are some large pot holes in the road and needed a new tyre after hitting one during sun rise, a word of caution to anyone who drives the road at night please be careful.

I attended the World Jamberee in 87/88. I was 17yrs old and have the best memories from then, Challenge Valley and the Amateur Radio station my dad was working at and sharing New Years Eve with kids the same age from all over the world.

Lots of space for all your outdoor adventurous activities and all the sites are clearly marked with signs, can be confusing for a first timer but all the signs are onobstructed and well maintained. The grounds and activity spaces are fantastic and all the toilet blocks have 10 shower stalls with hot running water. Overall a fantastic place to have a camp.
