Run brilliantly by Superstars as are all SLSCs. When you are at Bronte, in addition to always swimming between the flags, please be aware that this gorgeous beach has a long history of waves that can “thud” you into hard sand fast, so don’t dive head first into waves - swim farther out shore. Bronte also gets rips (like Tamarama), so if you don’t know what to do if caught in a rip (I didn’t until I asked), talk to a lifesaver before you swim & they’ll explain what to do & how to get through quickly & successfully (an excellent UNSW Lecturer known as “Dr Rip” has talked them through how to look for rips & best ways to get out of them if caught in one when swimming). Massive thanks to all Surf Lifesavers here - you’re all excellent human beings & we are incredibly grateful for your voluntary service ?✅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Founded 1903.
A good place/ location to enjoy a Sunday Afternoon beverage if you're a member or know members.

If you want to enter be respectful and introduce yourself in a friendly manner and they will treat you as a member.
If you're rude or disrespectful then you're not welcome!!!

Lifesavers at Bronte are super efficient and capable. They have a lot to contend with, mainly backpackers who don't or won't comply with directions that are made for their safety. These volunteers deserve more respect and appreciation.

Dogs and topless white people are welcome, but I am not. Welcome to the most racist organisation in Australia. I went for a swim today in Bronte and wanted to grab a beer with my wife at the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club. As I was approaching the bar, an old man who I assume is part of management came up to me and said I cant stay without a shirt on. I said well there are 2 other topless people and there are others with dogs. I ignored him and made my way to the bar, only for him to beat me to it and whisper something to the bartender who said the same thing. Wjen I pointed out the other 2 white topless guys, they went quiet.

Maybe its just one racist staff, maybe its the entire organisation. All I know is I am never stepping foot there again. If you are a person of colour or you consider yourself a champion of inclusion and diversity I urge you to do the same. Maybe just maybe if enough of us stopped giving our hard earned money to these racist organisations they will get what they deserve. And finally, if saving lives is part of your services as well, and a person of colour is drowning next to a white person, who would you save first? Or better yet, who would you deliberately leave to die.

Signed up for nippers, but never ended attending one day. Tried to email to withdraw but no replies. A few months later we received a certificate of completion for my daughter. Good to know the club is keeping track of the children attending their sessions each week ...

As a Bronte local. I've always supported this SLSC. I went there this Sunday afternoon, enjoying a drink on the balcony. Two women came and stood by my table, lighting up cigarettes no more than two meters from a "No smoking sign". I asked if they would smoke somewhere else... too which one of the two. (Brunette, ponytail) replied "Well im the manager here" . I also work in hospitality and replied " I also manage a bar, i umderstand you can't smoke anywhere within 4 meters of a door. Besides there's a no smoking sign right there." So the managers reply was "Do you manage this bar?" Whilst pulling on her cigarette...... I guess it doesn't matter at a small club like this. But, i won't be back.
