Sam from Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre has only been training me for 6 months, yet in this short time, I’ve gone from someone with 0 knowledge of martial arts and precarious balance, to perfecting highly difficult roundhouse kicks, smashing martial arts goals I thought would take me many years to learn. If you want to be meticulously trained in serious martial arts down to each detail, you will not find anyone more invested in your progress or motivating as a trainer. Sam will not only assist you with extensive martial arts techniques, he has developed his own unique and valuable training approach, where he sees your martial arts goals, then tailors the perfect strengthening exercise to match them. It is this combination that allows you to then kick higher, harder, and help you to dramatically improve. I can’t recommend Sam’s martial arts training highly enough.

Chris is an exceptional asset to the whole of the Blue Mountains, with extensive knowledge of martial arts spanning back decades. BMMAC is a fantastic space with all the right equipment in a serene location. I’m grateful for my time here and the positive transformation that I have undergone as a result.

There are other “hobbies” you can take up, and then there is one on one martial arts training, that will strengthen you as an entire person for the better. I cannot recommend BMMAC highly enough.

While being on holiday with my wife and kid in Australia I had the pleasure to meet the head coach Chris Traish at the BMMAC and did a drop-in BJJ-class taught by Jimmy De Caux. Although we just met, Chris made us feel right at home. Jimmy‘s Class was amazing, a lot of fun while being also highly technical. The atmosphere in the class was super inclusive and enjoyable. I have been to a couple of gyms on my trip but this one and it’s community stands out by far. If you are in the area of this amazing place, do check it out.

I had the pleasure of bumping into Chris at the shops by accident this morning. I was looking for somewhere to train in the mountains, and he invited me to come in for a session. It was my first time doing MMA (I usually do Muay Thai) and I had a blast. I am definitely coming back for more!

Awesome space, great instruction, quality people. I had the best time. BMMAC is truly a gem in the Blue Mountains. I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know.

I have dropped in for a class twice now. The first time the founder of the gym took me on a tour of the whole place. I then joined the class ran by Sam Traish. I was made to feel most welcome. Sam gave with a good partner, then when it came to rolls set me up with himself, black and brown belts (even though I’m just a white belt).
The second class I dropped into was run by Simon. Once again I was made very welcome. I had some good rolls with the women there and was asked for roll by blue, purple and brown belts. It was hard work but great fun.
The gym is easy to find, even if it’s hidden way down the back of Leura. Lots of parking. Easy and prompt communication through Facebook.
Highly recommend for a drop in or to make this your gym.

Chris has a great gym for all walks of life. The gym has a very holistic approach to martial arts; therapy? Come and train here instead 🙂

I've been training in martial arts for more than 20 years and cannot recommend BMMAC enough. Chris and Sam are a worth of knowledge in MMA and BJJ, and martial arts and fighting in general. Great fun spirit, no ego in this dojo. I train there daily, strongly recommend.

Very friendly place. Lots of amenities. My daughter received a great orientation your and then great support during the session. I would recommend this to anyone with kids thinking about starting kick boxing.

Epic place to train! Great coaches, friendly atmosphere and a nice sense of community. I’ve been attending the BJJ classes for almost a year now and I’m hooked, you learn something in every session while having a blast! Can’t ask for more !!Highly recommended!!
