Amazing! I don’t even know where to begin.
Ballykin has been such a massive role in my Son’s development.
They have been so accepting and inclusive of his Autism, from making sure he has his favourite regulation toys, to taking everything on board that his OT has recommended to them on their visits and always making him feel so included and supported.
Unfortunately we have to relocate back to QLD and I think Ballykin will be very hard to replace, they have set the bar very high!
I will forever be grateful for the love and support from every single staff member.
I highly recommend sending your child here ?

OUTSTANDING - could not recommend more highly
My family and I cannot recommend Ballykin Mosman more highly. It was the first time we have ever left our daughter in any sort of care before so at first it was daunting. However from the moment we completed the tour to our daughters entire time at Ballykin it has been welcoming and nurturing.

It exceeds in all areas including the centre itself - so many areas to explore and endless activities with a high level of learning without putting pressure on the children. They cater to both indoor and outdoor activities that are fun and adventurous spaces and well resourced. The nutrition is exceptional - my daughter was a fussy eater and now eats an entire range of food in all different cuisines!

Ballykin Mosman caters for every child’s individual needs. They have helped our daughter to gain more confidence and inspire her with learning, creativity and having fun!

However it is the team that makes Ballykin Mosman what it is. They go above and beyond for every single child and family. Personally, they have made my daughter and our family feel so welcome into the community. Particularly Arri, Alex, Gabriela, Maria and Rojina - each team member highly experienced in early childhood education and learning. They keep families continually updated with how the child’s day has been and their ongoing progress. They give time to each individual child and family.
We feel so lucky our daughter has been in their care.

Thank you team Ballykin for making our daughters time so special. We could not recommend Ballykin Mosman more highly. Your family will be lucky to be apart of this incredible community.

Unkept, Underwhelming and Unaccommodating

This was a good daycare with a wonderful community of parents and children prior to its temporary closure. Our eldest daughter was an attendee in that time. We therefore decided to send our 2.5-year-old son there when they re-opened their doors in May 2023, not long after a third Ballykin facility in Cromer was opened. Certain staff have shifted from Mosman to Cromer, including the previous Mosman facility director, which we feel has impacted things, as the current facility director is not nearly as experienced. Our experience with Ballykin Mosman this time around, has been very different and disappointing.

Firstly, our son dropped his day sleep around 20 months. Whilst we respect and support Ballykin taking reasonable steps to ensure children’s needs for sleep and rest are met, there was no environment to separate those children who slept and those who either wanted to rest or engage in some form of activity (quiet or otherwise). Therefore, on many occasions this unaccommodating approach resulted in confrontation and distress for our son, who at 2.5 y.o old would be told to sit quietly for 30 mins with either a toy or book amongst many other children who would naturally sleep and be left wondering why he was getting reprimanded if he didn’t comply. Instead, and at $185 a day, an alternative room (inside or outside) should be provided to not disturb those children who were sleeping and create a neutral or positive experience for those who remain awake.

Further to this, Ballykin clearly sign post that they cater for dairy, gluten, nut and other dietary and allergy requirements and that “the needs and wellbeing of each child is at the core of everything” they do. Great to hear and know! So when our son had an operation for his tongue and lip tie in late June, we expected Ballykin to support us in accommodating his dietary and food requirements during his recovery period and they did for one week only! After this time, they insisted that our son be provided more complex food first (menu items include Lentil curry with rice or Korean beef stew with rice) before offering him a vegemite or cheese sandwich alternative and only after all other kids were served and begun eating. The 2 problems with this were, he would rightfully get upset/anxious that he was being presented food he could/would not eat and further to this he would be left watching other kids eat around him until an alternative was provided. Ballykin attest to supporting children's individual needs on their website. Needless to say, our son would come home famished which would impact his emotional behaviours during the day.

Needless to say we have withdrawn our son for the reasons stated above, together with the condition of the facility, minimal play area for the younger group vs older groups, no regular sports active programming (previously quiet common before the temporary closure) and the general attitude of management and the owner. There are some carers who remained post the temporary closure and who we still think are amazing, but our opinion is that staff are stretched!

Our son is now sleeping better, much happier and calmer as a result.

Such an amazing centre with such amazing professionals.

They care every little detail, care about the learning environment of our children and I feel confident when leaving my child in such good hands.

I' ve been informed about the improvements of my kid and have been shown and told how will we all act to help my child on each aspect of his development. They have such a great education program.
BEST option on the área. I totally recomend It!

We have been at Ballykin for over 6 years now, first with our eldest daughter, now with our youngest daughter, and we cant wait for our baby boy to start there when he gets bigger. The teachers at Ballykin are beyond wonderful. It has been such a beautiful environment for our children to grow up in. My eldest daughter still wants to go back and visit all of the teachers. Both girls have developed such lovely friendships over the years and have learnt lots of wonderful things in their time there. A wonderful centre all round.

My kids went to 3 different centres in Mosman before we settled at Ballykin. I have twins that both attended together and they loved their time here. They were nurtured and cared for with consistent staff that knew and understood them and that followed them through the years as they grew. I highly recommend Ballykin for long daycare

We have been very happy with Ballykin and the care it provides our son. The teachers are welcoming and seem to have endless energy! Their collective experience, led by the wonderful Lucy, means that you can be confident your child is in the best care.

We have our youngest son at Ballykin Mosman and have only good things to say about the centre. The director and staff are absolutely wonderful, hands on and caring. I don’t want to mention any names as all the permanent staff is amazing in their own way. Staff turnover is low and there is great crossover in between the rooms. Drop offs have never been so easy. After our oldest having been to 3 different day care centres with varying quality it is a relief to have found Ballykin. It has a family feel about it.
