Arrived 11pm with 8/10 pain. Triage nurse gave me ibuprofen. Waited for 2.5 hours. Watched 5 patients leave and only 1 new patient (baby) treated and allowed to leave. Went home as I'd rather be there in excruciating pain than a waiting room with flouro lights and back breaking hard plastic chairs and a seemingly endless wait. Zero communication from the staff, assuring me when I was leaving that I will be seen by the Dr but he is very busy. Could see the staff on break (?) standing chatting and laughing hysterically..... 3 hours I wish I never went and will certainly think twice before going again.

Unfortunately have had to go, once by ambulance 1am, the second by car, all within a week and half. Both times I was treated really well. Medication effects were monitored and changed or re-administered. Thank you to Dr White and Dr Pepe 🙏🏼and of course all the others involved but alas I didn't know or remember your names. Thank you Mrs Harper

Can’t say enough nice things for the team in the home dialysis unit - with an especially big shout out to Gillian.
These guys, while understaffed and under resourced helped me transition my care from Victoria.
Gillian did my training sessions and bent over backwards to help manage the session and the installation of all the equipment at my rental home around my busy schedule.
They also went above and beyond to help while we waited for the terrible fresenius delivery system, and waited to reach drs with poor communication skills.

The care might be ok but no excuses for total lack of communication and that it’s impossible to get through to General Ward as nobody will pick up the phone. Tried to phone for 3 days after my mother was admitted after a fall but could not get through and no-one contacted myself or relatives to advise what was happening.

This hospital is something out of a horror movie, just the overall cleanliness and outdated look is scary enough but to have staff that do not do hand overs when their shifts start, have to have drs assess patients via zoom, no equipment on weekends, just told to drive another 40minutes to another hospital, have nurses and drs bitching about each other and standing around talking about their personal lives instead of doing their jobs... wow. The other hospital was amazed they let my husband drive me to them in my condition. I cannot believe Ballina has a hospital like this!

WOW! I recently had day surgery at Ballina Hospital and I was so impressed with the staff and care that I received. Every person, be it a nurse , doctor or surgeon greeted me with a smile and a hello. The staff were courteous, efficient ,competent and professional. The facilities were clean and inviting. I cannot rate the hospital highly enough. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. i highly recommend Ballina Hospital.

This is the worst hospital if you have another option do not come here. Triage nurse offered me pain meds that I told them 5 mins before that make me extremely ill. 4 people in waiting room yet I waited for hours my back pain was worse when I left then when I arrived. Staff were rude and lacking compassion. Worst medical experience of my entire life. Next time I will drive the extra distance and go to Byron bay.

I had cause to report to the Ballina Hospital ED one Sunday a few weeks back due to an injury in the surf and again post surgery early one morning. The Doctors and Nurses are very caring and professional.
