I left abbotsleigh at the end of year 6 due to bullying, but my friends and sister stayed and all had horrific experiences of being bullied, and verbally + physically abused.

I was bullied in years, 4, 5 & 6 and the teachers never did a thing about it despite me being cast out of my group and abandoned multiple times because of what a few girls kept saying. I was begging to be allowed days off because of how awful and cruel she was and my parents complained countless times, but the teachers always took her side as the parents donated to the school. Girls in the year below me kicked dirt at me while I sat alone trying to read a book, an old friend asked for a dollar to get an icy pole, to which I obliged, then she ran off and didn't come back. My friends ditched me at lunch to hang out without me because i was eating too slowly. I was chased around the classroom by a girl with a pin threatening to stab me, after telling me she was going to tell everyone at the school I was going to that I was terrible and she'd make sure I had no friends - I didn't even bother telling the teacher because I knew nothing would be done about it. Also the classes in year 5 and 6 are based off of performance, which seems fine at first until the students figure out which class is the 'lowest' and laugh about the girls in that class behind their back. I was never one of these girls but I watched it happening. This school cares more about appearance, grades, and money than student wellbeing.

I was doing the lights and sound controls when I was part of a musical and the mother of the girl I was paired with coerced the teacher into not letting me help in the controls a single night despite spending months practicing, because she only wanted her daughter doing it. So I missed out on being able to show what I'd learnt and worked hard on to my parents and other family who had all paid for and attended the musical. Obnoxiously selfish parents and lazy teachers not willing to defend their students. Like come on, I was 11 and this 45 year old woman couldn't let her daughter share the task of literally playing audio queues at the right time. Classic private school mum insecurity.

Also, I remember when I was younger, we were forced to walk from the junior school to the senior school in 42c heat in the middle of the day. There were kids as young as 7 doing this walk and were extremely distressed due to the heat, just to go for a 20 minute swim in a HEATED pool. Safety hazard and a terrible experience. I'm shocked none of us got heat stroke or passed out from dehydration - we weren't offered any water. Speaking of water, in year 6 we all had to go to the Opera house for the day to perform in a choir. We were not given a single sip of water - we weren't told to bring food or water so no one brought any. We ended up having to drink out of the bathroom taps in the opera house since no one even gave us a chance to drink anything when we were singing all day.
Is this the treatment of your daughter you expect when you're paying $29,000?

This school is all presentation and reputation, no consideration is taken towards your daughters wellbeing. Massive bullying problems since this place is teeming with emotionally repressed girls who turn to being hateful as an outlet. They also signed an anti-LGBT letter as the cherry on top. But hey, sending your daughter here might get her into a more expensive university that you have to pay for too, and why not, tack on the fees for a therapist and antidepressants as well!

Best tarkeque pizza in the north shore. Teachers are real edgy, especially the English ones. The education is delicious, tastes like KFC. This an AMAZING school for AMAZING girls. But my friend's bungalow was better than this.

Don't really trust Private schools, it's a shady business. Don't be fooled by most of the Private schools academic achievements, they were all helped funded by the people who have scholarships.

The staff are very unprofessional, specially the lady in the registrar. She never replies to your email. Never answer her phone. She’s completely igonors.

Very unreliable school, wont recommend it. After being on waiting list for 2 years, still haven’t heard back to say yes or no. They put you on limbo.

Really good school. Teachers are open to suggestions and questions. Facilities pretty good too.
