Very poor treatment as host family and hard to watch International students be badgered and manipulated by the adults of this organization!!
Student # 1 suffered a medical emergency. Host family has zero rights to intervene and were blocked from speaking to doctors. AEI stalled treatment which resulted in a blood clot being formed for Student.
We were accused of lying about blood clot by Organization president. Hospital documentation makes it CLEAR there is a blood clot & scar for life now. Student #1 promptly removed from program. No reasons, no discussions.
Student #2 removed from home in secret without her or host parents wanting her to go.They slandered us to the mom so she would agree to their demands.
No discussion, no meetings, no reason. Vindictive move by AEI!
Watch out for this organization! They do not act in best interests of students. It was constant threats that students would be sent home and lose money spent. If you see photos of everyone looking like they are having fun it’s false advertising!! They have “mandatory” attendance at some functions- for the photo op!!
Many of the students were miserable this year in our small community. Students unhappy with their homestay because of being placed in extreme chore driven homes and forced to work, MAGMA supporters and students that were placed in known drug centered areas
They still owe us money and do not respond to texts or emails. I’ve waited since November for an answer. The organization has been manipulative & condescending.
I am a former teacher from NB and we are both well known in our community.
