I graduated from TRIA in 2017 and it was the best studying experience of my life. The course was so much more that a lot of the textbook learning courses that are readily available, TRIA gave me the hands-on skills to become a therapist that other courses had not and truly set me up for the career I now have. It also provided me with the opportunity to create support and friendship networks in a profession that can often be very solitary. I absolutely recommend TRIA to anyone looking to study counselling and also learn more about themselves or for honing existing counselling skills through a relational lens.

My goal when I enrolled in the training was to learn more about gestalt therapy and realise my dream to work as a psychotherapist. At the end of my training I can wholeheartedly say I achieved this and so much more. Personally, I have greater self awareness of "who I am" and "how I am" in relationship: in short I feel more empowered. The ripple on effects of this awareness in my life have been countless. Professionally, I am part of a diverse and vibrant community of people who are committed to navigate the complexity of relationships with a wider view to contribute to a better world. My time at TRIA was one of evolving learning and growing. I have developed a high level skillset and deepening awareness around being in relationship with not only others, but with myself.

After completing academic studies in the area of trauma, I was looking for an organisation that taught the kinds of trauma-informed therapeutic skills that I had been reading about. As soon as I came across TRIA, I could immediately see that it spoke to what I had been looking for, so I enrolled in the Foundational course. Now that I have finished three years of experiential training with them, I can only say that I learned far far more than I could ever have imagined when I was only reading about it! All credit goes to the facilitators, who are highly experienced therapists and trainers, the steadily growing community of students and graduates, in all of our different backgrounds and ways of being, and -- particularly -- the strong, ethical underpinning of the institute, which fosters an inclusive, supportive and usefully challenging learning experience. If anyone were to be looking for developing PACFA-accredited skills in a well-established therapeutic modality that values relationships, authenticity and empathy -- along with a thorough grounding in what contemporary neuroscience continues to tell us about the embodied effects of trauma -- this is the place to come!

Proudly I have graduated as a Gestalt psychotherapist from TRIA in 2020. Firstly I've completed the one year of foundational Gestalt training and straight after the two years of advanced Gestalt training. The transformation of my “self” both personally and professionally (as clinical psychotherapist and organisational consultant) actually goes beyond words. However, I could say, I HAVE BECOME SO MUCH MORE OF ME, AND LIVE MY LIFE EXTENSIVELY MORE FULFILLING. This highly relational institute proves that sustainable and integrated learning happens only in a high psychological safety environment with incredible relational support both by their highly skilful faculty and your peers. The Relational Institute is concerned with walking the walk (experiential learning) of the Gestalt approach. Simultaneously they link an adequate amount of academic requirements so that they adhere to a very high professional standard as a psychotherapist eligible for PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation Australia) registration.
