Youth Options is a very welcoming place for people like myself. I got referred here by my job provider and it's been quite the past few months with them, I'm mostly going to talk about the cooking and driving programs they provide since that's what I chose to do.

So first the cooking has been a great way for me to get creative and try new things I've never done before, whether it was making Sourdough, cakes, shortbread or even burgers I've had quite a blast making them and sharing it around with others, and my mentor Glenn is always energetic and very helpful.

And for driving this is a great way to help get your Learner Hours during the day and the mentors always let you know what you're doing right and wrong but in a respectable manner. This also teaches you some basics of what you need to do on the road and also stuff like parking, giving way and being mindful of what's going on around you on the road and in my case my mentor Chad Has been very helpful with what I need to improve on when driving.

The rest of the staff around Youth Options are great as well and even helped me understand what I can do With my NDIS plan and also gave me advice when I went for my review with NDIS. Overall I can't recommend these people enough if you want to learn some new skills.

Delivered industry-ready skills through their courses, with excellent counselling and preparation and the development of social skills to understand the work environment. I specifically recommend the short course introduction to hospitality as a great package for anyone who feels they want the quickest way to gain experience and qualifications with industry professionals to get a job within the month.

Youth Options is a social enterprise giving opportunities to the youth of South Australia. Come and see the amazing work they do, take a tour or come along to a “Grill for Good” BBQ. Meet the Garden Squad, taste the rosemary infused olive oil, see what they’re doing and making in the Makerspace area. Watch the barista staff in action or the hospo team, and if you’re lucky taste some of their goodies. Volunteer or donate to Youth Options and make a difference to a young person’s life 🥰
