Brian is a very experienced teacher and demonstrator of Chen Style Practical Method Taichi. He has a very strong attention to detail and is well placed to assist on your learning journey. Classes are very thorough, with a focus equally on form practice as well as partner exercises to develop the movements further. Brian has helped me immensely on my journey to improve and understand more about Taichi and its application. I look forward to many more enjoyable times ahead as I progress with Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method 陈式太极拳实用拳法

To all people who are interested in health n live a pain free life, this is my story.

My name is John Saw n I’m 90 years old.
I had a stroke in 1995 when I was 60 and ended up in St.Vincent hospital. I lost my balance n my speech was affected. During my stay in hospital, I remembered my grandmother told us tales of ancient China, stories about heros of their martial skills. She also mentioned that if we learn qigong or taiji, it’s like magic, we’ll be able to defend ourselves n live a healthy long life.

So after discharged from hospital, I managed to find a martial arts school in Chinatown where I started to learn their Internal style of martial arts called Lohan Qigong.
In no time my health improve n started to teach n help people to gain back their health. I travelled around the world to teach the system for 20 years. In 2015 at the age of 80, I retired from the school.

In 2014, I met Master Chen Zhonghua by chance. I was invited to attend his open house lecture at the UTS. I was so impressed by his humble demeanor, his taiji skill n his willingness to share his knowledge of Taiji n Qigong that I immediately decided that this is someone I respect n want to learn from. Since then I’ve attended all his workshops in Sydney n once in Bali. Also attended his mountain retreats in DaQingShan, QingDao many times. I was accepted as a Disciple in 2017 and felt very honored to be part of this awesome Practical Method Taijiquan family.

So to those who are interested to improve their skills or their health, no need to look further.

Practical Method Sydney offers Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method as taught by Master Chen Zhonghua.
The classes led by instructor Brian Chung are practical, engaging, and cater to all levels of experience. Whether you’re aiming to deepen your understanding of Taiji or seeking hands-on training, this is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone serious about learning traditional martial arts!

Sincere regards,

If you're looking for a place that teaches the martial art aspect of Taichi then this is the place. The teaching focuses on the Chen style of Taichi. Classes are weekly. We cover foundations, Yilu and practice push hands with a partner. Every week we focus on a different element of Taichi. First there would be demonstration and then we practice the move with a partner. As we practice the instructor would correct our form so that we are practicing correctly. The instructor is very patient and is always willing to help you understand the moves behind Taichi.

I am in my 7th decade of life, and been following the martial arts for 6 of them! There are many excellent and very true statements in this Sydney Workshop Notice. We here in Australia are exceedingly fortunate, as RARELY, in one's lifetime will a Master of such incredible ability - both to demonstrate and teach, appear. At all levels of experience, Master Chen's personal total dedication to this Fighting Art will be YOUR SHORTEST route to develop REAL and TRUE PROGESS, bringing you personal enjoyment and fulfilment. My best advice - DON'T DELAY! PAP Sydney Disciple #333.
